Shaw: My portrayal of Eve is my own

Suzanne Shaw has fresh inspiration for
her Emmerdale character

The former Hear'Say star appears in the soap next week as Edna Birch's (Shirley Stelfox) flirty granddaughter Eve, who was played for a stint in the early Noughties by Raine Davison.

Suzanne said: "In real life, I'm a very different person from how I was when I was a teenager - with all the hormones you have when you're that age, you can be a little bit outrageous, so I think personally that she would have changed."

She went on: "I'm just taking on the role as how Eve is today rather than how she was then."

Suzanne says Eve has a "long list of men" to get through.

Ryan Lamb, played by James Sutton, is her first target, but she hinted there may also be a relationship on the cards when Eve gets a job at Butler's farm.

The 28-year-old added: "I think people see Eve as a bitchy person but I don't think she really is. She just loves to have fun, and because she's going through a big messy break with her husband I think she flirts with the boys, I think that's her way of getting through her her marriage breakdown."
