Shocker: The Vampire Diaries Casts Attractive Actor

...Oh terrific. A TV series based on a Twitter account. Yes the popular (and, IMHO, woefully unfunny) "Shit My Dad Says" Twitter feed, written by a 29-year-old Maxim.com editor, will get a CBS series treatment by exec-producers Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, who previously brought us Will & Grace. Because it's on CBS, I imagine they'll have to tone down the language. Crap My Dad Says? Junk My Dad Says? Everybody Loves My Dad? [Variety]

...The CW has set a premiere date for their much-anticipated new series Life UneXpected (big X not a typo), a show about the girl from Roswell being old enough to have a teenage daughter, which is depressing. You know who else is in it? Jack McPhee from Dawson's Creek. Playing, like, a real adult. Sigh. Anyway, the show will debut on January 18th in Gossip Girl's slot while that show takes a brief hiatus. [THR]

...Ew. Remember Omarosa, the crazy lady from The Apprentice and Wendy Williams' arch-nemesis? Well, she's re-teaming with Donald Trump to do another reality show. He's producing the series, called Omarosa's Ultimate Merger, about Omarosa trying to find the love of her life. Yes, it's one of those shows. It will air on the prestigious TV One network, which you can only watch if you have Comcast cable. What recession? If we still have money for this... [Variety]

...Exciting! Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks and co. talk, briefly, about The Pacific, their highly-anticipated new HBO miniseries about WWII's Asian theater. [THR]

...The USA series White Collar has dropped 36% in ratings from its first week to its third, an unhappy number for the network. Doesn't mean the show's done by any means, it just means it's not going to be as big a hit as some had hoped probably. I must admit, I enjoyed the first episode, couldn't get through the second episode, and didn't even bother with the third. Oh well. [THR]

...Area cutie-patootie Sean Faris has been tapped for a multi-episode arc on The Vampire Diaries, playing a former high school football star who comes back to town a failure and works at the restaurant they all go to or whatever. Plus, obviously, he'll be a love interest for someone. I'm guessing the vampire guy. Just to turn the show on its head. [EW]

I'm with ya, Sam! Who gives a crap what Oma-whatever is doing? LOVE Vamp Diaries (it's no Buffy, but nothing is these days) and White Collar. If you truly liked the 1st ep, it's pretty stupid not to watch the next 2.

Hi Richard, I like White Collar but it is dragging a bit, started off really great but I'm hoping it picks up. I know every episode can't be great. Looking forward to The Prisoner. Really liking The Vampire Diaries more so than the Twilight series.

I like MemnochZERO's "Omarosa" suggestion but would further expand the realm of possibilities by offering: any future "love interest" will likely come with a lifetime supply of batteries!...

    Seems unnecessary..

Omarosa's ultimate love interest, calling it now: a wood chipper. They merge and the world will be a happier place.

Omarosa makes me laugh. Anytime she's on TV I love it! She is by far the funniest and meanest reality TV person ever!
