Showtime Schedules Premieres for Penny Dreadful, Nurse Jackie, and New Comedy Happyish

The spring premiere dates just keep rolling in. Showtime is the latest network to fill out its midseason calendar, announcing April premiere dates for Nurse Jackie, new comedy Happyish, and sophomore horror drama Penny Dreadful

Nurse Jackie will kick off its seventh and final season on Sunday, April 12 at 9pm, holding down the network's Sunday evenings until April 26, when it's followed by the series debut of Happyish at 9:30pm. A "comedic, soul-searching examination of our pursuit of happiness and why it continues to be so elusive," the series was first announced a year ago and centers on a 44-year-old man whose life is thrown into disarray by a new boss who's two decades younger than he is. Originally slated to star the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, Happyish has since been redeveloped with British actor Steve Coogan (Neighbors from Hell) in the lead role. Kathryn Hahn and Bradley Whitford also star.

Also premiering on Sunday, April 26 and airing after Happyish at 10pm will be the much-anticipated second season of TV.com favorite Penny Dreadful; the monster mash-up will be back with 10 episodes for Season 2, up from eight episodes in Season 1.

They've used up all of the names for titles already. From now on they are just going to add ish to everything. Just waiting for Breaking Baddish.
