Smallville, Glee, and a Little ol' Thing Called the Super Bowl

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4

8 p.m., CW

Smallville

After the VRA finally releases Clark (Tom Welling), Lois (Erica Durance), Oliver (Justin Hartley), and Dinah (Alaina Huffman), the group debates whether or not Chloe (Allison Mack) was instrumental in their capture. Bad friend alert!

9 p.m., CBS

Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials

Re-airing the best Super Bowl commercials in the history of the game has become a tradition of its own... at least when it comes to CBS trying to capitalize on the Super Bowl whether or not it's airing the game. Jim Nantz and Lara Spencer recall the 10 best Super Bowl ads—plus, they preview some of Sunday’s highly-anticipated spots.

9 p.m., FOX

Fringe

The Fringe division investigates a puzzling biological occurrence after a scientist ingests some blue powder that makes his bones disintegrate. Sounds painful.

9 p.m., CW

Supernatural

While Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Bobby (Jim Beaver) are busy trying to prevent dragons from kidnapping virgins, Death attempts to restore Sam’s (Jared Padalecki) soul. Out of context, these synopses must sound insane.

The Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers face each other in what will probably be the most-watched telecast, ever, in history, of all time. No pressure, Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger.

10 p.m., SHO

Shameless

Frank (William H. Macy) receives some bad news about his health, Fiona (Emmy Rossum tags along with Steve (Justin Chatwin) while he buys a new car, and the rest of the Gallagher clan attempts to score some money from Veronica’s (Shanola Hampton) wealthy family by putting on a fake wedding for her and Kev (Steve Howey).

10:30 p.m., Eastern/7:30 p.m. Pacific

In this special episode, Will (Matthew Morrison) and Coach Beiste (Dot Jones) mediate a conflict between the glee club and the football team, and Sue (Jane Lynch) comes up with a dangerous way for the Cheerios to win Nationals.
