Sons of Anarchy Casts Marilyn Manson in a Recurring Role

Sons of Anarchy has cast shock-rocker Marilyn Manson in a recurring role for its seventh and final season.

Manson, 45, whose real name is Brian Warner, will play Ron Tully, "a white supremacist shot-caller whom Jax (Charlie Hunnam) uses to expand his power base" while in prison.

"Sons has been such a big part of my life, as well as my father's," Manson said in a statement. "I was determined to make him proud by being involved in what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema.  After all, the very heart of SOA is about that relationship."

Added the singer: "Now all I need is a motorcycle."

This won't be Manson's first foray into acting. His previous television and film credits include Party MonsterJawbreaker, and guest spots on Once Upon a Time, and Eastbound & Down.

Sons of Anarchy will return to FX this fall.

Right there you can see how lame its gonna be. That has been the underlying plot in at least two other SoA seasons not to mention how many times the season kicks off with the sons in prison for a big rap which is the fall out from the previous season finale.
Never mind they'll all be out by episode 3 from using the most ridiculous loophole anyone has ever heard of. (This is where idiots get the idea that so many guilty people go free & defense lawyers are all shysters - from badly written crim dramas like this) .

I dunno about where Sutter lives but the gangs around me stopped forming up along race lines a generation ago.
Of course there are still racists around but gang leadership tends to not restrict potential membership by defining the local poor and desperate teenagers on the basis of skin color.

That said I can't think of a single club that would welcome a flabby tosser like Marilyn Manson not so much because he seems gay ( I got no idea what team the bloke bats for & could care less) but because he is old, creepy and about as threatening as a squashed tomato.

Hollywood loves the idea of the creepy psychopath but staying at the top of a mob of violent frustrated & angry people always comes down to an ability to win a one on one physical fight at some point.
I just don't see Manson winning a chook raffle.

I just hope he does not make the show worse. His appearance on Talking Dead was awful. I am just glad the people running The Walking Dead did not cast him. I am sure he asked.

just what wee need - poser like manson on a tv show. No mention of his drug-addled incoherency on his The Talking Dead appearance in the little bio. Maybe the suits at AMC need another gay guy to hold off the gay gestapo - Walter Goggins is gonna be - like - kinda unavailable...

Hahahahahaha, I know right. Kurt Sutter is getting to be known for these weird casting choices that amount to nothing.

It should have ended with the death of Clay and that should have happened season 4.

I don't understand why the show would give a role to a singer with all the excellent, proven actors available.

So Jax will be in prison for at least the first few episodes, which is to be expected, but having the lead character behind bars for an entire (final) season on a show not set in prison won't work. It should be interesting to see on what grounds he's released and how close the authorities comes to catching Tara & Eli's real killers.

Why would Jax be in prison? With Tara dead there is no evidence against the MC and basic forensics would show that Jax did not kill Tara or Roosevelt,

He's an ex-con known gang member found by the DA holding his dead wife in his kitchen wife next to a dead sheriff. They'd take him into custody right away, probably set a high bond, and assume he killed one or both of them until the forensics say otherwise. Forensics may not quickly show that he didn't kill either of them. The bullet that killed Eli, looked like through-and-through, have to be compared to the gun that Jax probably had on him and however many other he had around the house even if none of them smell like they'd recently been fired, just to be thorough. They'd have to figure out what Tara was stabbed with, which Juice got rid of, and they can't prove or disprove that Jax beat her head off the sink.

I thought this was a joke headline at first (as in "Haha you thought we were serious - gotcha!") but I think it'll actually be kind of neat.
