Sons of Anarchy is putting together a fine fourth season so far, and it's showing in the ratings. According to FX, numbers in the adult demo are up more than a quarter over last season's, so you know what that means: time to renew!
FX officially granted Sons of Anarchy a fifth season today. The news may not be surprising, but it's certainly good to hear. Season 5 will run for 13 episodes, and if history is any indicator, it will debut in September, 2012.
Sons of Anarchy, created by outspoken showrunner Kurt Sutter (The Shield), follows a motorcycle club in Northern California as they run guns, sometimes mule drugs, slap around porn stars, and occasionally get married. But don't think it's just a cheap show stuffed to the gills with violence and brotherhood—it's actually one of the better dramas on television today, Emmys be damned.
The series has seven episodes left in its fourth season and airs Tuesdays nights at 10pm on FX.

It's a long wait for the fifth season, but definitely worth it.
Hope there will be more than just five seasons best series available.

SAMCRO doesn't deserve only 5 seasons ! this show is the best god damn stuff I've ever seen on Tv sceen ! It deserves a lot more the 5 seasons ! If SOA will have more seasons than 5 , then it will get the highest ratings in the world !

One of the most underrated shows on Tv at the moment, so Hooray for season 5.
Based on Hamlet, in my humble opinion and since we all know how this tragedy ended - death for all characters involved, at the end..
So lets all enjoy their journey

Really? That's what I usually like about the cable shows, 12-13 episode seasons. Story keeps moving forward without any filler.

Yes, nothing can bring down the crime night every Tuesday & Wednesday each week. I love Sons of Anarchy & Justified, 2 of my favorite shows displaying on FX. Sons of Anarchy keeps me happy for the first half of the season fall/winter and Justified keeps me happy for the second half of the season winter/spring. I am so glad hear Sons of Anarchy is coming back for a 5th Season. I was kinda bit scared this Season was aheading thus the finish line as Series Finale.

Best news ever. This season is stacking up as one of the best, absolutely brilliant. I'm just worried if Ron Perlman goes out, which is possible, how it will hold up without him. Anyway, it's my favorite show by far so I'm over the moon. I just wonder if they shouldn't go the Breaking Bad route and set an end date. Glad to see the ratings reflect the quality of this show. I hope it translates into some awards for the cast and crew as they deserve it.
Sons of Anarchy is a great show. It's right up there with Justified as my favorite dramas after Breaking Bad. I assume that if it weren't for Breaking Bad, it'd probably get a lot more recognition for its greatness.
Glad to here this, the way the season is going now it seemed like the end of the series, but hopefully theyll take a blast off for Season 5
