Starz Acquires Torchwood

... Good news: The Torchwood flame will continue to burn bright! (Yeah, I've been waiting to use that one for awhile.) STARZ has acquired US rights to the next installment of the series, which will air in summer 2011. Get ready for more John Barrowman, more Eve Myles, and a slew of new characters. [Ausiello]

... What do you get when you condense Simon Cowell's globe-spanning, random-country-reaching, Talent-seeking franchise into one show? Um, that would be World's Got Talent, his latest pet project. Set to air next summer, the series will pit 20 of the best acts against each other in competition for a hefty cash prize. Britain's Got Talent and America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan will join Cowell on the panel. Hopefully the two of them will lighten up. [The Sun]

... All you crazy NCIS nutjobs can breathe a sigh of relief: Pauley Perrette has signed her contract, which means she'll be returning to the small screen for at least one more season as Abby Sciuto, the one adult keeping Hot Topic in business. [Ausiello]

... Charlie Sheen will now serve part of his 30-day jail sentence as an acting coach at Theatre Aspen in Colorado. Wow, life really is tough for this guy. [TMZ]

... It's looking like the next season of Brothers and Sisters will probably be its last, what with Rob Lowe leaving and ABC ordering only 18 episodes for Season 5. Or at least that's what Rachel Griffiths thinks. [Seattle PI]

... Former Scrubs star Sarah Chalke is in talks to star in CBS's new midseason ensemble comedy, Mad Love, about four friends living in New York. She'd be starring alongside Jason Biggs and Tyler Labine, which would undoubtedly produce copious amounts of laughs. Just sayin'. [Deadline]

... Will Forte continues to work his way through the NBC Thursday night comedy lineup: He'll be guest-starring next season on Parks and Recreation as a Twilight-obsessed resident of Pawnee. I wonder what part they'll dream up for him on The Office... [Ausiello]

It is great that Abbie is back ....along with Gibbs and McGee ...possibly Ziva are the necessary elements for the series. I got tired of Tony and his one trick pony act awhile back...anyone who is that big a fool would never have been hired much less manage to keep a job with an outfit that important.

Also good news that Torchwood has a Yank network

I feel sorry for the poor actors that "learn" from an imbecile like charlie sheen. If they learn from him instead of acting they learn how to cavort like a middle schooler who never had to grow up.

glad Torchwood is coming back, big fan of Doctor Who and it's spinoffs and I don't care if Captain Jack is gay straight, bi, or unisexual, as long as Torchwood is back. but obviously he has to be unisexual or it can't be the same Torchwood.. i think they just wanted Starz to pick it up so they can still have the cussing and sex scenes in addition to the gay stuff

NCIS wouldn't be the same without Abby, so great news. And Mad Love is looking really promising now!

Capt. Jack better be bi-sexual or I'm going to be upset at America and its inability to handle gay people. I have yet to see a network American show have a gay couple kiss. Thank god for Starz picking up Torchwood...
