Beware, exotic locales. You could be the next victim of Survivor. CBS today announced that it will be bringing back the reality show for two more cycles next season, unsurprising as it continues to be one of the more popular unscripted shows on the air.
CBS has not yet announced which chaste foreign locales will be subject to penetration by producer Mark Burnett's television crews over the next two editions, as the network usually saves those announcements until closer to each cycle's premiere. However, CBS did say that Emmy-Award-winner Jeff Probst will continue as host.
Both cycle 19 and 20 will air next season as part of CBS' two-cycles-per-year format. When edition 20 airs sometime in 2010, Survivor will celebrate its tenth birthday.
How long can Survivor survive? And where would you like to see the next editions of Survivor be held? Antarctica? Jupiter? Detroit?

Survivor.....SURVIVE ON and ON!......if not i will be very disappointed. I have been a survivor fan for a long time and now my husband of 4 years has become one. We love it and couldnt live without it. I think I would like Survivor..........On an Island close to the Bermuda Triangle that might make things interesting and my husband says in Compton with red and blue buffs LOL.
18 Seasons over, 2 in the works...Heck, you're just getting warmed up! Keep the Survivor series going for another 20 seasons - I've seen em all and it never gets old!

I'm glad it was picked up I want to try out for the next ones. where do we find out where the casting locations are?
I'm a super fan of survivor~~~I hope it can go as long as it can~~~~~~~~Anyway, after watching nearly 20 episodes I'm a little bored now, hopefully it will make some change and add something new in the show
I alos love the show. i hope it show the long runnung series.
More seasons coming that great.
so excied! i love this show and i hope it never ends:)
I never watch it but it seems so popular that it's not surprising it's being renewed.
YAY this is great news :) I LOVE survivor its definitly one of my all time favorites. Ive watched every season and not one season is lame! Im sooo happy we get it for 2 more season...i personally think as long as ratings stay up they could easily make it to 25-30 seasons.
My ideal Season 20 would be the previous 28 (okay, 19) season winners. If you want an even number, make it 20 by bringing back Rupert since he won "America's Tribal Council". Problem is of course how many WOULD do it, and could they get Hatch?
Survivor is one of the ONLY three good reality shows.
hey , i tried out at a casting call here in Michigan. Have not heard anything which is not a surprise. But has anyone that tried out heard anything?
Nice to hear that. I like this show.
Great news :-)
I'm always a big fan for the show.
I would like to see a "World Edition" of Survivor that would have entrants from 10 different countries competing against each other. They could be from The US, Canada, UK, Australia, Russia, China, Japan, Italy, Brazil and Spain for example. Langugage would be an issue so you would have to ensure the entrants speak a reasonable amount of English.
A solid, low cost show to produce with excellent ratings...not hard to see why it was renewed. It's be nice to see one set in North America in the future though red tape might preclude that happening...:(
honestly i stopped watching survivor after like the 3rd season. But i will never forget the Susan speech from the first season.
Peon, as much as I love Survivor if they had celebrity survivor it would be horrible. That's the guaranteed "jump the shark" moment.I'm glad CBS sees that it's still performing well. :)
YAY! I'm so glad to hear that. I love Survivor!
Cool maybe one of the next ones will be a celebrity survivor. I would really like to see that.
I like Survivor. This is awesome! =]
I love Survivor so this is great news!
