Survivor's next stop: Brazil, winner crowned

Guess which one is the physics teacher.

Time to muddle some limes and mix up some caipirinhas, because the next edition of Survivor is headed down south to Brazil. The 18th edition's locale was kept secret until late last week, when host Jeff Probst leaked the nugget of info on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.

The fact that the secret was kept mum for so long is even more impressive considering that the 18th season has already been filmed and is being primed for a debut in February (more Survivor? Already?). The full title for the next edition is Survivor: Tocantins--The Brazilian Highlands, according to online reports, and was filmed in Rio Novo.

Meanwhile, Survivor had a bit of work to do on its most recent edition. The 17th edition, Survivor: Gabon, wrapped up last night and declared its newest winner. Bob, the 57-year-old physics teacher from Maine, came out victorious.

Probst was happy Bob took home the win, but one thing did irk him. "I was a bit annoyed with Bob about one thing," Probst told EW.com. "During the show Bob was so long-winded, always ready with another story about this or that. We get to the live reunion show and he's suddenly the shy girl in the corner with braces and a ponytail, who doesn't want to be there. Bob, you made it tough, but I'm still happy for you."

Congratulations to Robert "Bob" Crowley on a gutsy win. Did you think Bob should have won?

It upsets me that Susie made it as far as you can go in the show. I never liked her throughout the whole season, but started to like her a little bit more towards that last couple of episodes. So I really wanted either Sugar or Bob to win, and I'm very glad Bob won. I'm also glad that Bob broke some Survivor record by being the oldest person to win the game of Survivor. I think nothing is gonna compare to this season, but I still can't wait for the next one.

Hopefully next season or the season after the young people will ban together. if they dont theyll get picked off as usual cus the older people are scared of their strength at challenge time.

really hapob won the game. Im just shocked that there were so many votes for Suze. At least she actually won a challenge or two. Unlike Krystal. Glad shedidnt win. She was worthless the entire game and road the coat tails of Kenny who was too sneeky for his own good.

I am SO glad bob won.
Susie was way to plain, and boring.
But i also loved sugar, and am glad she made it that long.
And if Crystal or Kenny would have won, I would not have tuned in next season.

I was very happy to see Bob take the win!!!! The only other person who was truly worthy would have been Sugar. She managed to successfully turn the game on its head right at the end to bounce out Crystal. I don't think I can recall anyone in Survivor history to single handedly flip a game at tribal council like that.Congrats to Bob!!!!

It was good to see Bob win in a very bitter season...Corinne might be the nastiest contestant in Survivor history especially with her remarks at the final Tribal Council. If Susie had won, that would have been very annoying to more than a few fans of the show.

Bob was the only one I wanted to win. I'm definitely happy. I knew they would go back to South America. I was hoping they would.

It would've been such an upset if Susie won.

I bet Bob was ready to cry when Susie's third vote was read.

I just talked to my physics teacher about this this afternoon. I told him he should go one, they're so alike. He said he'd miss his family.

I'm glad Susie got three votes. She deserved them.

Sugar deserved it the most...I guess she rubbed people the wrong way as the jury mentioned. Bob even said that he "didn't outwit or outplay anybody"...Sugar was the most strategic person in this particular Final Three and had the biggest hand in game changing moves. She always kept herself both secure and in a position of power. Bob pretty much tripped over his shoelaces for thirty days before making a couple key moves, mostly due to Sugar spoon feeding him strategy & the tiebreaker. And in the end, all of the votes simply went down tribal lines, 4-3.

I rooted for Bob from the beginning and am glad he won. No one else deserved it, though I would have been ok if Matty won. He played well and was amazing at challenges for an old guy. Congrats. I can't wait until next season.
