Ana Claudia Talancon has been cast in the title role of HBO's comedy pilot Whitney.
The single-camera project centers on Whitney (Talancon) and her clique of young women in Miami who play and win at the game of sexual politics. Whitney is a beautiful and self-confident woman who easily manipulates men, making each believe that he's the only one in her life.
Whitney was penned by Lisa Schrager. It has been greenlighted for production and will be shot in Miami.
Mexican-born Talancon stars in the indie Alone With Her, which is playing in limited release. She also appeared in the film Fast Food Nation, and her upcoming screen credits include director Mike Newell's Love in the Time of Cholera, based on the novel by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and the horror film One Missed Call.

I love HBO series. I could go on about ROME, SOPRANOS and others, but...this one sounds like a repeat of SEX AND THE CITY; just in a different city. What happened on Sara Jessica Parker'show is a premise that doesn't need repeated already. There seems to be better shows in the offing from HBO. Time will tell if this one is good. I thought BIG LOVE was going to be a dud, but I was wrong.
sounds stupid, cancel now. Its a pathetic concept. Manipulating men to get to the top, what a sl#t.
I wonder if this will be any good.
