TBS Closes Sullivan & Son After Three Seasons

Sullivan & Son has closed its doors for good.

The TBS comedy about a family-owned Pittsburgh bar has been canceled after three seasons, Deadline reports.

Executive-produced by Vince Vaughn and Cheers veteran Rob Long, the series starred stand-up comedian Steve Byrne as a successful corporate attorney in New York who suddenly decided to move back home to work for the family business.

Sullivan & Son is the latest show to get the axe under new TBS and TNT president Kevin Reilly (who was formerly the top dog at Fox). Last week, two TNT series—lawyer dramedy Franklin & Bash and FBI drama Perception—both received pink slips.

TBS is getting ready to roll out several new sitcoms, including the Rashida Jones-starring Angie TribecaBuzzy's, and Your Family or MIne?.

Will you miss Sullivan & Son?

The younger generation appears to be watching less TV and interacts online or with social media much more. Kevin Reilly appears to want to change TNT and TBS to youth directed TV networks. Not only is this guaranteed to fail, but he's probably going to bankrupt these two networks.

I just started watching Sullivan and Son in season 3 and was looking forward to season 4 and eventually backtracking for seasons 1 and 2. With the loss of "Hot In Cleveland" and "Perception" I'm down to only one show on TBS/TNT and that's the "Exes". Kevin Reilly is an idiot.

I thought the first 2 seasons were the funniest but it was still a decent show. Cancel the good ones and keep the crappy ones. Sheesh!!

A decent show, and as a native Pittsburgher I liked the local references, but it suffered from "Two Broke Girls" syndrome with an over-reliance on vulgar sex jokes, and characters that were so overblown to be caricatures (no human being could be as stupid as Owen or as sex-crazed as his Mom).

Nowadays, a lot of shows don't even make it past the 3rd season. Or less.

Yes. One of the few shows starring an Asian American and it gets cancelled. It was the best thing on TBS.

"Sullivan & Son is the latest show to get the axe under new TBS and TNT president Kevin Reilly (who was formerly the top dog at Fox)" its because the new president is from fox....other than their animated sunday shows, they don't know good television.

I didn't get into this show until the second season, but I always watch it after Big Bang reruns when it is on. First Men at Work, and now this.
