Teletrivia: On the Bubble

Ah, May—bearer of warmer temps, seasonal allergies, and the announcement of TV networks' fall programming lineups. But not all shows are clear candidates for renewal or cancellation, which brings us to that mysterious, volatile realm known only as—insert dramatic pause and ominous announcer voice—THE BUBBLE. In the latest episode of Teletrivia, TV Guy covers five of 2011's most "unstable" shows: Chuck, V, Breaking In, Lie to Me, and Two and a Half Men.

How many did you get right? Which of this year's "bubble shows" would you like to see live? Which ones would you like to see canceled?

Lately, I have taken to watching FX, TNT & USA shows. They have original programming that takes the time to build a following: Damages, Justified, Saving Grace, the Closer, In Plain Sight, Burn Notice, etc. Not just new shows, but different types of shows, not retreads. Maybe the networks need new writers.

Human Target, Chicago Code, both tried so hard and Richard Valley & Jennifer Beals both are excellent actors and deserve another season. All of the actors on these shows are great. The networks don't give them enough time to develop a following and declare after 2 outings that they are cancelling the shows. Why should the consumers invest any emotions or loyalties in these shows when they will be cancelled? That is why we stick to the tried & true, because no matter how bad their ratings get, the networks keep them on. They are going by what they like, not the what the public likes.

I am a a fan of Chuck and think it is one of the best shows on TV. I really want to see Chuck renewed for the 5th season. NBC, please renew Chuck!

Chuck really looks as if they're preparing to end it. After all, there's a wedding which is a common sign of a show ending. V probably won't come back; it didn't have that much of a chance when it ended. Lie to Me will probably be retired to give a new show a chance. The latest rumor I read about Two and a Half Men is that they're planning to replace it with a spinoff using the same characters, minus Sheen. If they do try to renew it they'll likely have to face a Sheen lawsuit.

I really REALLY want V to return. The last episode was simply amazing! If they do at least one more season then maybe we can get some closure on the story. They way season 2 was left was just too much of a cliff hanger. We at least need a 2 hour special if they aren't going to do a whole season.

I want to see Chuck return for a final season but the question is what would the writers think next.. I would also like to see Lie to Me return since it's one of the best shows I have ever seen...

The only one I'd actually miss is Human Target but it has the curse of Chi McBride, who is great - just unlucky. Chuck may leave us now, it's too iffy...

It seems they make a lot of shows in Hollywood and then give up on them - some of which are very good. It's hard to try new shows knowing they probably won't last - especially sci-fi. Fringe was a fluke, btw, a wonderful fluke. But will they ever run out of ideas? My guess is they can keep resurrecting old shows like Hawaii Five Oh until reality shows completely take over. My neighbors watch nothing but this crap and they aren't especially stupid, so I can't figure out why. Bring back Moonlight, it was way better than Five-Oh...

Two and a Half Men should be cancelled, since Charlie Sheen, the show's biggest star, was fired.

It's always terrible waiting to see which shows that are on the Bubble will actually get renewed but looking at the list, I'm not really surprised as some of them haven't been doing very well and others have had a lot of controversy. I think "V" will definitely end up being axed. It doesn't have anywhere near the class of the original.

I would like to V, Lie to Me, and Breaking In. Some of shows that are "ON THE BUBBLE" should come back because they don't belong on there..

V Definitely and I'd like to see more Lie To Me but not at the expense of another FOX 'BUBBLE' show Human Target
