The Bachelorette, Law & Order: LA, and Platinum Hit

What to watch on Monday, May 30.

Are you enjoying your national holiday so far? I bet you are! Sometime today, why not take a moment and appreciate all that our fallen soldiers have done for this great nation. They've done tons for us, more than we'll ever know. To be fair, this also means they're partly responsible for the summer TV lineup. But I think we should let it slide, okay?

8pm, ABC
The Bachelorette
After last week's opening-night bloodbath, the remaining 18 "studs" move themselves and their inappropriate issues into the mansion. Before the episode is over, however, three contenders will be pushed into a grave and the masked man will finally reveal his face. Perfect. This show.

SERIES FINALE, 10pm, NBC
Law & Order: Los Angeles
Tonight the detectives investigate a birthday party at which pretty much all of the guests were BEATEN TO DEATH. Dang, maybe they SHOULDN'T have canceled this show? Just kidding, they should've.

SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, Bravo
Platinum Hit
Check out Bravo's newest reality show, Platinum Hit, a songwriting competition hosted by Jewel and presided over by ex-American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and guest judge Jermaine Dupri. Tonight we'll meet the 12 contestants as they write songs about the city of Los Angeles. (Never heard of it.)

SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, ABC
Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition
The problem with most weight-loss reality shows is the often-short time frame in which the subjects must lose weight, and how there's not enough time to film sufficient amounts of tear-filled back stories. Fortunately, in this second spin-off of the extreme plastic surgery series (NEVER FORGET), the subjects are followed for over a year. That's PLENTY of time for gathering footage of emotional back stories and hardships. In tonight's first installment, a 400-pound lady attempts to shed half her body weight by switching from regular Cheetos to Baked Cheetos. Or something like that.

SPECIAL, 9pm, Science
Killer Robots: Robogames 2011
In this special, we'll see the highlights of a three-day event in which dozens of 200-pound robots fight to the DEATH. Poor robots! How barbaric. Basically this is like Gladiator for nerds. Are you not entertained??

Agree with MinaHaroun, Law & Order: Los Angeles doesn't deserve all the smack it gets on this website. Its a good show and got even better after the reboot. It was a victim of NBCs poor decisions.

i watched RJ Berger and RJ Berger and Platinum Hit, which at first i thought "oh God, ANOTHER singing show? and it's on Bravo? it's going to suuuuuuuuck" but it was actually good. people not just having a good voice, they have to write good songs too. show is for making artists not just singers. i was tempted to watch Single Ladies but i forgot so nevermind now lol. also i hate all cop/law shows, not just Law & Order, even though i hate all of them too lol

I do not get how they can film a series like EM:WLE for multiple episodes. Following someone for one year, and cramming it into a 40 minute episode? Take away 5 minutes of fluff at the beginning and end. And hosted by 1 guy or a team of people? Because if it was one guy, he must have worked reeeeal hard to have a seasons worth of television. Even a shortened summer schedule. Anyway, I was so upset about this show, I totally missed the bit about Killer Robots: Robogames 2o11 was a real show!
