The CW Moves Up Hart of Dixie's Season 4 Premiere Date

UPDATE 11/25: It seems The CW can't wait to get back to Bluebell! The network announced on Tuesday that Hart of Dixie Season 4 will debut a few weeks earlier than previously announced, on Monday, December 15 at 8pm. The season premiere will air ahead of the winter finale of Jane the Virgin; after that, Hart of Dixie will immediately take a short hiatus, returning in its regular timeslot on Friday, January 9 at 8pm.

Pack your bags, because we're finally headed back to Bluebell: The CW announced on Tuesday that southern dramedy Hart of Dixie will now return for its shortened, 10-episode fourth season on Friday, January 9 at 9pm.

When we last visited the charming but wacky town populated by Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) and her colorful circle of friends, the titular doctor had decided she was finally going to fight for Wade (Wilson Bethel), who'd opted to stay in Bluebell and continue to run the Rammer Jammer after all. Meanwhile, George (Scott Porter) and Lavon (Cress Williams) had both decided they weren't quite over the tasty offerings of one Lemon Breeland (Jaime King), and Annabeth (Kaitlyn Black) had dumped Barry Watson's Davis because he owned way too many shoes (and because she was totally still in love with Lavon).

Hoo boy, that's a lot of potential drama to cover in just 10 episodes! I don't know if Hart of Dixie can do it, but for now I'm just hoping that, regardless of whether Season 4 turns out to be the show's last, The CW will lead us to a satisfactory conclusion at the end of this rocky road.

Are you excited for Hart of Dixie's return?

I started watching HOD on Netflix two weeks ago and fell in love. I've watched all three episodes and can't believe I get to watch the premiere of season 4 tomorrow night! I'm so excited! I really do hope they don't cancel the show. I'm disappointed there will only be 10 episodes but very enthused to see what happens next. I love Rachel Bilson and Jaime King and of course Cress Williams.

I love Hart of Dixie and I do not think this show should end. I love watching and I love how it shows small town living. I think this show can go for a long while. I will be watching older shows on Netflix until season 4 is on, can't wait to see what happens next !!

I agree with lula19 about Life Unexpected and Secret Circle. However I like HOD mainly because I love Bilson. I due think it's time to end this show. More importantly I want to know how the heck Beauty and the Beast remains on.

Details, details--who cares what happens. I just like watching these people do whatever it is they do. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. It just makes me smile most of the time. Lucy, Desi, Fred and Ethel in Bluebell. They got some 'splaining to do.

Why wont this show die?! The CW keep trash shows like this, while life unexpected and secret circle (poor britt robertson) were cancelled and treated very poorly.

Yaaaaayyyy! 26 comments... I thought we were only under 5 people left watching this show by now...
It is a bit odd to premiere the season on Monday Dec/15 to just take a break until after Christmas.... But hey, with Hart of Dixie's ratings, I am just thankful we got to a 4th season even a short one...
What I am most looking forward to:
  • Obviously Wade & Zoe!!! Potentially with a baby-plot since Bilson was pregnant and come on... accidental pregnancy in Bluebell... too good to pass... that campy reporter will have a field day....
  • George & Lemon... Who would have guessed in Season 1, we'd be rooting for these two? Not me but now totally on this ship (sorry Lavon...) and yeah, they could also have a surprise baby...
  • Which actor has been cast to be the amazing hunk that helps the lovely Annabel over Lavon?

Looking forward to Jan 9th and S4 of HOD....I want to see Zoe fight for Wade for a change and having a Zade baby would be perfect. The writers owe the fans a happy Zade reunion after making us suffer through most of the S3 Joel debacle. I love this show...right now I'm in serious Wade withdrawal.

Perhaps the shorter season is due to Rachel Bilson having been pregnant? She had her baby on 29th October so got to wonder if they didn't want to include a baby storyline...?

They adopted in pregnancy, they announced that back in May or June and there's spoiler photos of Zoe in a hospital holding a baby with Wade beside her

10 episodes of poor ratngs,an overfill CW schedule & Rachel was pregnant.Perception of quality or lack thereof in a show has no baring on renewals/cancellations.

I love Lavon, but he is a big baby who was unsure of his present, that's why he run back to his past. I hope he realises fast, that he let the best woman in town slip trough his fingers (AB).

I agree with you, AB and Lavon make more sense. And George, ugh... Lemon and him never made sense at all. At least, this season will be very Zoe/Wade.

Yay!!! I love Hart of Dixie and can't wait to see what happens with those crazy characters... It is a long shot but I am still hoping this short 4th season is not be the last one... The CW is not having much success with its latest non-supernatural/superhero shows (Reign, the new Jane the Virgin) so if the actors are willing there may be room for some more Bluebell magic...

agree! I said the same about the show when I first started looking at it :) There's a good cahnce, according to rumors, that this would be the last season, and I wonder if in ten episodes they'll be able to wrap things up decently..

looking forward but 10 eps doesn't seem like enough maybe 16 would have been better to wrap things up as it is not looking promising for 5th season
