... The CW has just announced early pickups for five its its establish series, and those five series are: America's Next Top Model (featuring all-stars from past cycles!), 90210, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, and Supernatural. Rejoice appropriately in the comments. [CW via press release]

... The buzz surrounding Katie Couric's potential exit from CBS' Evening News is no longer buzzworthy. Couric has confirmed that she's leaving the news show and is looking for a different show format "to engage in more multi-dimensional storytelling." In other words, something other than straight news. Rumors say that Couric is choosing between staying at CBS or moving to ABC. [People]

... Week 2 of Game of Thrones was a good one (unless you happen to be a certain something who got shanked), with ratings of the under-the-microscope series steady from its premiere week, a good sign. The 9pm airing drew 2.2 million viewers, and the encore grabbed another 732,000 viewers, putting the second episode in line with the series premiere. The second-season premiere of Treme, however, fell dramatically from its first season, netting only 605,000 viewers. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Olivia Munn's first stab at scripted TV didn't go so well. Perfect Couples fizzled out at NBC, and now it looks like Munn has learned her lesson regarding network television. Munn is in discussions to join HBO's More as the Story Develops, the drama about a 24-hour cable news network written by Aaron Sorkin. She'd play a financial analyst on the faux cable channel. It goes without saying that her character is described as "sexy." [Deadline Hollywood]

... Tyler Perry has taken another step toward taking over TBS, with a third show greenlighted by the basic cable channel. For Better or Worse is said to be a spin-off of Perry's film Why Did I Get Married? and stars Michael Jai White, Tasha Smith, and Rick Fox. Perry already has a Seth-MacFarlane-esque pair of shows on the network; For Better or Worse would make it three. [LA Times]

... You've been dying to know when Keith Olbermann is returning to cable, haven't you? Well, the date is set for June 20, on Current TV. The new show will be called Countdown With Keith Olbermann. [Broadcasting & Cable]

... Actor William Forsythe is joining HBO's Boardwalk Empire to play gangster Manny Horowitz. Forsythe is no stranger to gangster shows, as he played Al Capone in the 1990s series The Untouchables. [THR]

... Two men decided to reenact the final scene of the first episode of Game of Thrones while arguing about "which characters were going to win" the show. One Florida man and his cousin began exchanging blows over the show, with the cousin eventually being thrown out of the window. Luckily for them, it was a first-floor apartment. Unlucky for us, it wasn't on top of The Wall. [The Smoking Gun]
