Watch The Gifted's First Six Minutes, See Tons of Mutant Powers

If you were worried The Gifted was going to be a let down when compared with the larger-than-life mutant powers of the X-Men universe, we suggest you watch the newly released first six minutes of the pilot. This sneak peek is seriously going to blow your mind.

In the first few minutes alone, we get a look at four awesome mutants. Blink (Jamie Chung) seems to have an unreliable -- but no less impressive -- ability to create portals that transport her wherever she wants. A handy trick to have when you're running from the cops, no?

Thunderbird's (Blair Redford) power is harder to nail down, but he appears to have super senses, allowing him to see and sense things a normal human can't.

The Gifted Puts a Timely Spin on Its Discrimination Storyline

His brother Eclipse (Sean Teale) wields the power of light, sometimes as harmless as a flashlight and sometimes dangerous enough to blind an entire platoon of police officers. His girl, Lorna (Emma Dumont), has a very familiar ability to those who have experience with the X-Men films. She can control metal, which she does to excess when fighting off the police, though it eventually gets her captured.

So are you totally hooked after seeing the first few scenes of the series?

The Gifted premieres Monday, Oct. 2 at 9/8c on Fox.

I resigned my office-job and now I am getting paid £64 hourly. How? I work over internet! My old work was making me miserable, so I was forced to try something different, two years after...I can say my life is changed-completely for the better!

Control metal? Not familiar with the source material or what? It's the power of magnetism, like, you know,.. Magneto (not the same thing). Why do people with no familiarity with comics get the job to do write ups and just reveal their own ignorance to the comics, to the animations and even to the movies?

This website is creepy. It's like one of those old abandoned malls, that you can remember once bustling with people and vibrancy, and now all is still and water is dripping down the walls.

One more proof tv.com is abandoned: this story has been in the most visible boxes on the top of the page for a long, long time, and there's nobody to manage that, replace it with a new story, etc.

Just wanted to dust off the ole TV.com web site and see if it was still breathing. It's not like the old days when you could chat about episodes. Now, it's.   If you're looking for a web site to chat with fans, try Previously.TV. Heavy forum traffic.

I still use tv.com just to check when new episodes are coming, but lately even that hasn't been working properly. Ironically, the only other site I have found with this feature working is the dreaded... TVGude. But there's nothing with good articles and thught-provoking or entertaining features like the old tv.com.

Where did Tim go?? Where's everyone anyway. All the usual commenters and all.. We should just start our own circle lol.. But yea I use this website for the episode guide, I used to love coming here immediately after watching a new episode of whatever, and see what the reviewers wrote about it and go to the commenting section. It feels like a big part of my show-experience is missing now... Those stupid videos annoy me and they play automatically as well as soon as I go on this website. Instead of my fav people reviewing my fav shows..

Tim and Kaitlin were hired by TVGuide, but he has to conform to the editorial rules of the new site, so he writes about reality TV, Dancing with the Stars, things like that. I wonder where everybody else is. It should not be hard to track them down and find them. Perhaps they might even be free to talk about the demise of tv.com if they are working for somebody else.

THIS SITE IS LIKE A CRACK ALLEY ANYMORE. It's a disgrace. Links don't work and there's rarely anything new anymore. It's actually worse than TVGuide.com and that's pretty pathetic.

Do TV studios not have access to stage lights? Most of the first episode of The Gifted was so dark it was hard to figure out what was going on. The restaurant where the family was hanging out during the day was too dark. Half of t he school gym scene was pitch black. I know some was filmed at night, but I still couldn't see what that spider thingy was doing to that guys leg. Etc., etc. etc....

Still will watch it, though. Anything with Amy Acker is watchable! Saw her at DragonCon a few years ago. Got a POI photo/autograph.

Having True Blood as Dad and POI as Mom to mutants kids. How much more cool can it get? I was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable it was. Wished they have had piloted 2 episodes instead. Ended too soon. Can't wait for next episode. Good job Fox.

Blink was also present in the movie "Days of Future Past" for anyone who didn't know.

I just hope they explain how they got their "gifts". Just saying they are mutants is not enough. You are not just born a mutant. Something must have happened in the family, such as exposure to unknown elements.

Most mutants are just born that way.

Naw, must have been exposed to radiation or something. Being just born that way is ridiculous.

First of all, it's not ridiculous. In real life, mutants just happen.
Second, in the Marvel universe most mutants are just born that way because they have an special gene.

I'm the Marvel Universe, mutants are the next stage in human evolution. They are born that way with the "X gene". Then you have enhanced humans, like Banner and Peter Parker, who were exposed to something. Last, you have humans with magical objects that enhance them, like Juggernaut.

I notice the reference to X-Men. Was a Marvel comics fan when I was younger but don't care to see the movies. However, the first episode of Gifted was pretty good. Time will tell if I continue to watch.
