The IT Crowd Premieres Early Online - Watch It Now!

Can't wait until The IT Crowd returns? Don't worry, you don't have to: the fourth season's first episode is already available online.

Channel 4 is making The IT Crowd's fourth season debut available online a week before its TV airdate.

The comedy's upcoming episode Jen the Fredo can already be viewed on the 4OD website, despite not being broadcast on Channel 4 until 10pm next Friday (June 25). While the early broadcast is only for viewers in the UK, the show’s creator, Graham Linehan, has been using his Twitter feed to explain to international fans how they can get around the blockade.

The move emulates that of BBC Three, which recently launched three new pilots online a week before their television broadcast. BBC Three controller, Danny Cohen, said it was an "experiment" to help "plan for the future".

The IT Crowd's fourth season will once again be set in the basement of Reynholm Industries where technophobe Jen (Katherine Parkinson) attempts to manage IT geeks Roy (Chris O'Dowd) and Moss (Richard Ayoade).

Channel 4 has so much confidence in the show's popularity that they've already commissioned a fifth season. Check out the clip below to see if their faith is deserved…
