The Legend of Korra Finally Has a Season 2 Premiere Date

Legend of Korra fans, the news you've patiently waited OVER A YEAR for has arrived: Nickelodeon has finally announced a premiere date for Book 2, which is subtitled Spirits:

Friday, September 13 at 7pm

Yes, that's a Friday and not a Saturday, where Korra has aired in the past. While the show won't necessarily *stay* on Friday nights—it seems Nick has been taking some liberties lately with the scheduling of its animated shows—our own Noel Kirkpatrick (who will be reviewing Book 2 weekly!) has pointed out to me that the Friday-night debut may be designed to open up the show's Primetime Emmy eligibility. (It already has a three Daytime Emmy nominations and one win—for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series or Special—to its name.)

Anyway, Book 2! Now only about four weeks away!

Here are five ways to pass the time until the premiere:

1. Re-watch the official trailer for Book 2, which was first released at Comic-Con 2013:

2. Watch the entire Legend of Korra panel from Comic-Con 2013:

3. Revisit our photo gallery from Comic-Con 2012, featuring a first look at the concept and character art:

The trailer is absolutely awesome but the way they edited that sneak peak together is kind of lame.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
I'm so happy about this. If I could dance, I'd do the 'Dance Of Joy' from "Perfect Strangers".

So they waited a year to announce this and release it on Friday the 13th? I guess that is in-keeping with a season titles 'spirits'.

When TMNT became a huge hit, Nick started airing it in prime time. It's a show of confidence.

when the last airbender finished i always thought they would make an origin story about the first avatar

so i am excited to see the first avatar that would be voiced by Steven Yeun from the walking dead

I was hoping for sooner but it could also be later so I'm satisfied, I'm just glad we've finally got a date already. Any word on whether it will air the same day in Canada? Last season was delayed by quite a bit so I had to watch it online.

Looks like you'll have to poke YTV about it. I haven't seen anything about Canadian premiere yet.

It's more likely to show up on Nick Canada first. Although they haven't been the best about showing things on the same date.

So. Excited.

I would say I've already cleared out my Fridays from that point onward, but, well, we all know they were already clear of social obligations. Because I have no life. Sigh.

The fact that 13 of you over (and probably counting) like this comment, and by extension, like the fact that I don't have a life is troubling me a little. <3
