In the series premiere, Henley Boone (Lauren German) arrives in Haplin, Minnesota on the same day that a gruesome murder occurs at a local pond and ruins Deputy Tommy Conroy's (Geoff Stults) planned boat launch.

Sharon Stone guest-stars as District Attorney Jo Marlowe, who also happens to be Stabler's (Christopher Meloni) former partner. She requests Stabler and Benson's (Mariska Hargitay) assistance in a case involving a father accused of murdering his daughters.
