The New Arrow Trailer Features Lots of Bad Guys Getting Stuck (VIDEO)

One of the more pleasant stories of the 2012-2013 TV season is that NBC is back in last place among the Big 4 networks, so we can all cool it on our suicide pacts. Another promising tale is that of The CW's Arrow, which has become the network's most-watched show and is slowly erasing the memory of H8R from our brains. I know the series is a favorite around these parts, so I figured at least a few of you would get a kick out of this new midseason trailer, released hot on the heels of yesterday's Season 2 renewal.

The video features a lot of what we want to see: Oliver Queen putting on his hoodie and poking bad guys with arrows! But we also see what appears to be Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Oliver (Stephen Amell) lying in bed in various states of undress! Looks like it takes 13 episodes to forgive your ex for sleeping with your dead sister.

Arrow airs Wednesday nights at 8pm on The CW.

This show gets surprisingly better each episode. And I just started watching it as something to pass the time. If only they can fix that awful synth soundtrack then I might say it's better than decent. Really. It kills it.

The show is decent (and has occasionally been quite good), but smarter writing would help things a lot. Island flashbacks look interesting as usual.

It'll be great if they can pair Nikita and Arrow together.

Ten bucks says the oliver/laurel scene is a dream sequence or a flashback.

This preview is very encouraging. Unless they are tricking us, it looks like the show wiil be focusing more on the mythology of the show. I don't think its going to become serialized anytime soon, but there will be story arcs that last the season and there will be more depth to the overall narrative. Comparable in my opinion to seasons 4-6 of Smallville (season 5 is my 2nd fav) or seasons 3 (season 3 is my fav) and 4 of Fringe. If the show can get to the quality of these 2 shows, I will be very pleased. I don't think the show is there just yet and has a bit of a ways to go, but the couple of episodes before the last were pretty good and the last episode was very good, plus like I said the preview is very encouraging. Hopefully the show can continue to improve.

The next episode looks to be building on the previous ones in both the depth of story and the quality of television. I like that Felicity will find out about Oliver. I like her in that Chloe role for Arrow, I think she will not only be a good addition for the team, but a good addition to the show. But who knows she could want no part of it (I doubt it tho).

What's going on, Tim? Are you taking over Arrow from Noel?

Tim reports the news around here. This is news.

You know, Oliver has killed a lot of people now that I think about it. You really have to wonder where these villain bosses keep finding new henchman. It's not like they are just random punks off the street. A lot of the time they seem like they are trained ex-military folk. I mean last episode alone he presumably killed 23 people.
Reply
Flag
Yeah, it's really weird that he just kills all the henchmen but keeps the main guy alive to bring him to "justice". Is this how it is in the comics?

Depends on the writer. I think some more resent versions of GA has him closer to Punisher than Batman where he will kill off villains, at least low level henchman.

BTW, the reason why the clip shows stuff from last week might be because they were planning on 13 episode season then expanded it to 22 before now renewing it for season 2. so last week was supposed to end season 1 and leave us with a cliffhanger for what is now virtually season 2A

I'm surprised Felicity is still not officially part of the Arrow team , yet.Another thing: Stephen Amell IS the Green Arrow as far as I am concerned. He is on his way to being that character in the same way as Johnny Weissmuller is Tarzan.

Um, why wasn't this released when it came back in the first place? Parts of this have already been seen. Plus the scene with Oliver and Laurel was in the promo for next week's episode where it looks like Oliver is shot. Basically old news.

Not gonna lie, lovin' this (despite the recycled footage). Yay Felicity stuff! Really hope that the partial-blonde-head behind Dig in the scene where Ollie flatlines (1:31) turns out to be her.

Who was the guy in the red hoodie?

If you pause it just right (1:39) it's Colton Haynes. IMDB lists Colton Haynes as a guest star (and the character name).
Spoiler alert? Maybe? (I'm not familiar with the comics.)

He will be playing Roy Harper (aka Speedy) GA's sidekick. He will also be a love interest of Thea which gives her character more of a purpose.

I would assume that is Roy Harper.

giving thea the speedy nickname is what put me off

Isn't odd that many of the scenes were from last week? I am very excited for this week's upcoming episode because it looks to shake lots of things up...I think the Laurel thing is a fantasy of Island Oliver that he reexperiences while recovering in the lair. So, if you will, a fantasy within a fantasy. It might make him curious when he wakes up, but guess who is the first woman he will see? That is what I am so excited about (its not here) but I imagine it will make communications between Oliver and Dig better. I also foresee more home excitement because Moira will not be happy...

I assumed the Laurel thing was a flashback (based on soft focus lighting).

I'd say less of a flashback & more akin to a hallucination or something. Laurel asked in last weeks preview: "What was it like when they killed you?"

unnecessary reply to a general vent:
I know a "Loral" Laurel. Maybe it's a personal preference +/or regional dialect thing? tomATEo/tomAHto *shrugs*
Reply

btw, this is just a general vent & directed at no one. It drives me nuts that not a single person on the show pronounces Laurels' name properly. I know a Laurel & she has drilled it into my head years ago that people who say "Loral" instead of "Lawrel" are total smackworthy idiots.

K. done venting nau :)

I agree with the others. The scene with Oliver and Laurel in bed together is most likely a flashback. Would they really end up in bed together this soon? (Every time I see the names Oliver and Laurel together, I think of Laurel and Hardy. On top of that, both Olivers - Hardy and Queen - are called Ollie.)
I like the scene in which Arrow is hiding in the back-seat of Felicity Smoak's car. It might lead to something interesting. Is she about to be turned into the Chloe Sullivan to Oliver's Clark?

I'm excited to see more of the island story and where it's going. I wouldn't even mind a full episode of the island story.
The trailer looks like there's some awesome stuff to come. Can't wait.

This is either Oliver's dream or a flashback, and dude the show is awesome quit making jokes

I really like this show, although in the beginning I was sure I wouldn't, I was too hooked on Justin Hartley, who was playing the Green Arrow in Smallville, but that's not the point of this comment. So although this show really grew on my I still strongly dislike the island narrative, the show would be probably better off without it, or if it made any sense, except that we get to know that that is were Oliver Queen learned to be a survivor. There is a hint that there is a bigger conspiracy, but I am still waiting for the big picture to unfold and unfortunately I don't believe that it is going to be something that is going to be worth all those painful (useless) scene we have seen 'till now

But, but the island stuff is often the best part(s). Also, Crixus.

Although Oliver and Laurel getting back together seems very much like a CW thing to do, I'm gonna predict that that scene is Laurel's wet dream. Then she'll wake up and scorn herself for falling back in love with the Queen of Six-Packs.

See I see it as Oliver's dream based on the promo for next week's episode.
