Breaking Bad's fifth season begins in less than three weeks, but AMC is keeping a very tight lid on what's in store. A few teases have revealed milliseconds of new footage, and from what we can glean from what little we have, it looks like Walter isn't going to be much of a nice guy this season. Just as we had hoped!
This new ad for the best show on television clocks in at a whopping 30 seconds and mixes old footage with new, but the new dialogue is particularly of interest.
Mike kicks things off by saying Walter is all kinds of crazy, calling him "a time bomb tick-ticking away" and intimating that he's too far out of control for Mike's taste. Mike likes his men calm, cool, collected. Walter is menacing and drunk on power. Later, a bright-eyed Jesse and Walter talk about cooking again, and with the competition blown to bits, it's an open market. And finally, we once again see Walter calmly reminding his employee Saul Goodman that it isn't time to go home yet.
We know we're headed into the final sixteen episodes of Breaking Bad, and we know those sixteen episodes will be divided into two eight-episode chunks. We're all expecting Walter to continue his path toward becoming a ruthless drug kingpin, and that appears to be true, but what is going to be the big event that ends this first half-season? Take your guesses in the comments!
Breaking Bad Season 5 premieres Sunday, July 15 at 10pm on AMC.
