The stork will visit Alias

ABC has reported it will work Alias star Jennifer Garner's pregnancy into the new season of the spy show. Garner and new husband Ben Affleck are expecting their first child in January.

When ABC learned Garner was pregnant, there was speculation as to how the action show would approach it, since Garner plays the titular character Alias, aka Sydney Bristow, and is featured in various slinky costumes running, jumping, kicking, and fighting her way through sets that have been dressed to look like nightclubs from around the world.

Now, it appears Garner's pregnancy will be used as an Alias storyline in which Garner's character will carry the child of her lover, Agent Vaughan, played my Michael Vartan. Ironically, Vartan and Garner dated during the first season of Alias.

I predict that Bristow will give birth to the baby, but because of a national emergency she'll have to leave before the umbilical cord is cut. In an intense fight scene, she'll drop her gun but the baby will pick it up and shoot the bad guy, thus making them the first successful mother/newborn combo in CIA history.

I guess they have no choice but to do that, it's probably going to be her last season anyway...

Dumb question, it was answered in the article. Like someone said, pregnancy is never good for a show. Especially if that is not where the writers wanted to go with the storyline.

Is she married?

Ha! It's true. Every scene in another country takes place in a nightclub, or an "embassy" i.e., a fancy hotel with stairs. Anything with a long hallway she can run down. Although not anymore, I guess.

I think it's a good way to work her pregnancy in. It's also a good way to get ready to write Jennifer out of the show.

Isn't it easier to write her off the show at least for awhile!?

Well, it seems like someone wants their show cancelled.
