These Clips of the Family Guy Special Have Us Confused

Perhaps you've been watching the New York Yankees' 27th World Championship on Fox this week and have seen one of the network's many promos for Family Guy Presents: Seth & Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show, which airs Sunday, November 8. Perhaps you've also thought to yourself, "Way to buy another World Series, jerks, and what's this Family Guy hoo-ha all about?"

Well, Fox has released a few more videos that explain what the show is, and... okay, we still don't really know. It seems sort of variety-show-esque and appears to be mostly Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane and co-star Alex Borstein singing—in character—a bunch of songs from the show. Which is really creepy, just like when we see Nancy Cartwright do Bart Simpson's voice.

Maybe it's just me (wait, of course it's not JUST me), but if I'm going to watch people sing crude songs about sluts and the Holocaust, I'd rather watch Peter and Stewie. Because they're cartoooooons. And that's what makes it funny. Watching Seth bebop is just... icky.

Anyhoo, do these clips make you want to want to watch the show? 'Cause they certainly don't have me setting my DVR.

Family Guy Presents: Seth & Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show airs Sunday, November 8 at 8pm on Fox.

I was initially mildly interested but then the stupid annoying ads kept popping up on hulu and adultswim and now I see why people hate Family guy and it's illegitimate offspring!

Sounds like a musical treat comparable to "Rosie Live!" of a few years back. I may watch it-sometimes a television train wreck can be very entertaining.

Here we go. The moment a successful person starts thinking they can do anything and people will love it, they start pulling crap like this. This is your Magical Mystery Tour, MacFarlane!

MacFarlane too smart for something: now that's funny...

it will suck, just like Family Guy...

I agree with evildevil97! You guys are so conceited! Just give it a chance. I think you'll really like it. I especially love seeing Seth perform live.

as soon as he went from trying to be funny to trying to grossly offend everyone, Seth McFarlane became worthless to watch.

Sheesh I made my last post before even watching the trailer. Of course this is a massive joke people! I'm not even sure they'll really do this, and if they do I can't see how they can tip off that it is all a joke any more than the trailer already does. Seriously guys, you all need to go out and get yourselves a Gullible Shot. Oh, and get this, the Gullible shot also protects against H1N1!

MacFarlane is too smart for this. I think the whole thing is a massive joke and I think you are all falling for it. Hilarious stuff. He'll do it like it is legitimate but he's mocking similar stuff. Kind of like the Colbert Christmas Special but less obviously a joke.

I haven't watched Family Guy in years and i recognized most of those songs. Recycled songs + Seth's desire to be Frank Sinatra = This?

This is going to be like a bad car or train wreck. You don't want to watch but you do it any way.

I think it's obvious that this show is all about Seth MacFarlane's ego.

I pretty much disagree with everything said in this "article". Watching the voice actors perform is really cool. I'm looking forward to watching it.

But yeah, to sum it all up, this is really creepy and stupid.

By the way, these words come from a huge Family Guy fan that has seen literally every episode.

Why Seth why? Why did you even think of making a live action show? You are not funny. Family Guy is funny, but you're a douche. More Seth means more awfulness. Family Guy started sucking when Seth started using it as a vessel to force his beliefs on people. Family guy is a dying, limping animal that struggles to get up on it's feet, and sometimes suceeds(Road to the Multiuniverse) but most of the time it stumbles and falls back to the ground. And this live comedy show is basically Seth pushing the animal to the floor and holding it there with his foot. I know he is the creator of Family Guy, but please less of Seth's views! Either that, or just kill the animal and end Family Guy once and for all.

And I should watch this... why? After watching those two clips I got two messages from them; 1.) They are a bunch of hacks who really shouldn't be doing what they are doing and 2.) This show is going to creep out all the millions of people who aren't smart enough not to watch.

And yes I have a feeling that this is somehow going to be one of the all-time highest rated shows on Fox ever.

wow so its gonna be a tv concert? why would they do this

Well, unless they post it on their website, I'm not going to see it because it's definitely not worth scouring the Internet to see. Especially since it seems like all of these songs were already on the show, and they'll probably be funnier if I leave them there.
