TNT picks up Ray Romano's Men of a Certain Age

At least one network still loves Raymond. TNT is fattening up its original programming slate by green lighting the new Ray Romano vehicle Men of a Certain Age, reports Variety. The move follows the pick ups of a pair of drama projects last week, The Line and Time Heals.

While Men of a Certain Age will definitely have some dramatic elements, it will stick out as being much lighter than TNT's other programs, which largely fall under the heavy drama category. Mike Royce, who will serve as showrunner, says Men of a Certain Age "isn't ever going to be weighty tome. We're really just trying to write out of our own experience and make the show relatable."

The dramedy will follow a trio of former college buddies, now well into adulthood, whose lives haven't exactly panned out how they dreamed they would. Co-starring with Romano will be Andre Braugher (Homicide: Life on the Street) and Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap).

TNT has requested a 10-episode order with a target of an early 2010 premiere.
