Tomorrow When The War Begins stunt driving: photos

In the lead-up to the film's DVD release, the stars of Tomorrow When The War Began took us out to the Honda Australia Road Craft Training Centre to give us a hands-on look at some of the stunt vehicles they used in the film.

While Rachel Hurd-Wood and Caitlin Stasey couldn't attend due to commitments in the UK, most of the cast were there, including Lincoln Lewis, Pheobe Tonkin, Ashley Cummings, Andy Ryan and Deniz Akdeniz.

Having spoken to the cast prior to the film's cinematic release, the young actors revealed they only had a couple of weeks stunt training, which we thought was quite impressive. Joining them for a couple of hours at the training facility, we learned first-hand how much harder it is than it looks!

[Confession: this writer may have dropped a motorcycle on Lincoln Lewis when attempting to get on it! For the record, no one was hurt and he was completely unfazed by the accident.]

The experience is best told visually, so check out the images below:

Even stunt driving has to look pretty ... Ashley Cummings in make-up.

Ashley Cummings -- who only has a Learner's car licence (and laughingly admitted that she has only done "about two hours" of lessons) -- shows no fear as she prepares to jump on her bike.

In the film, Ashley's character Corrie doesn't actually ride a bike so she had only ridden in a straight line during stunt training. This time, she practiced turning corners on a scooter before upgrading to a 'real' motorcycle.
