Torchwood: Children of Earth fast-tracked to Australia

Captain Jack is back -- sooner than
expected!

Sci-fi fans, strap yourself in. Captain Jack and his team from the Torchwood Institute are about to explode onto Australian screens in a major television event.

The third series, "Children of Earth" will screen on the UK TV channel mere hours after its UK premiere.

Co-written by creator Russell T. Davies, it has been uniquely packaged as five episodes to air on consecutive nights as a miniseries. The UK TV channel will screen it across five nights beginning at 8:30pm Tuesday July 7th.

It will even get a high-definition screening simulcast on the BBC HD channel if you are lucky enough to have those Pay TV high-def channels.

The plot for the third season is being branded under the slogan "We Are Coming" -- the same three words that are sent in a message to all governments of Earth. On an ordinary day the world is thrown into turmoil when every single child in the world stops.

But for Captain Jack, sins of the past are returning, as long‐forgotten events from 1965 threaten to reveal an awful truth.

The Torchwood are forced underground, as the government takes swift and brutal action. With members of the team being hunted down, Britain risks becoming a rogue state, with the mysterious and powerful 456 drawing ever closer.

Joining Captain Jack on this treacherous adventure are Gwen (Eve Myles) and Ianto (Gareth David Lloyd).

Will mankind survive? With Captain Jack at the helm it's a pretty sure bet.

If you don't have pay television, you better find a friend who does. Otherwise you'll have to stick to season one repeats Friday nights on ABC2.

Torchwood: Children of Earth airs 8:30pm Tuesday July 7 - Saturday July 11 on UK TV and BBC HD.

Having been glued to Series One and Two (didn't think I would like it 'til a friend sent it to me), I can't wait for Series Three. It took some time to get into, but being a big fan of the latest Dr.Who series, there had to be a high-quality cross-over. And there was.Russell T.Davies is one clever fella; the cast a A-1 and the production values can't be sniffed at.And the BBC? Well, champagne T.V. as always.Go Captain Jack!!Love the Beeb.

Bahh, Torchwood, one show I wish would just go away. Like "Tortured_Mike" above I've force myself to watch numerous episodes, just never seems to hit that sweet note. That characters are lame, plots lame, pacing....oh god the pacing........ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Be steering well clear of this so called "Third Season". :(

It may not be the Doctor, but Captain Jack comes as a close second. I was afraid it would be over but am very happy to see them coming back, even though two characters short of the full cast...And don't forget. It is returning through the dark. He will knock four times!

Gee I wonder what man, woman or animal Captain Jack will make out with in this one. Give me the Doctor over Capt. Jack any day!
