Trevor Eve Teams With 24 Producer for New ITV Thriller

Juggling work between Britain and the States can't be an easy task, but for 24's co-producer Patrick Harbinson it's a way of life. He's penned episodes of ER and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, created the modern BBC remake of The Day of the Triffids, and now, the English screenwriter is creating a new three-part crime show for ITV1.

Kidnap and Ransom, the mini-series about an international hostage negotiator, stars Trevor Eve (Waking the Dead) as the lead Dominic King and will also feature Spartacus's John Hannah and Cold Feet's Helen Baxendale.

Eve won't just star in the show, however, he will also assist film-maker Johnathan Young in producing it: It's the first drama to come out of the actor's production company, Projector Pictures, since its partnership with Talkback Thames, which already makes hit ITV shows including The X Factor and The Bill.

Filming of the first episode, in which a business woman is held captive by an unpredictable kidnapper, begins this spring in South Africa.
