... True Blood scored an Emmy nomination for Best Drama Series yesterday (ehhh...) and the show's network hopes its creator has more success up his sleeve. ... More from HBO: Martin Scorsese's Boardwalk Empire will premiere on September 19 (a Sunday). The show is an old-timey look at Atlantic City during the Prohibition era, and should be everything you'd expect from Scorsese; get interested in this show now. [HBO via press release]

... It wouldn't be another day without some Glee news. Creator Ryan Murphy says he's currently in the middle of writing a special Britney Spears-themed episode, but we still don't know whether Brit-Brit will make a flesh-and-blood-and-fast-food appearance herself. [ET Online]

... Comedy Central is developing a show featuring two funny fat dudes. Brothers From Another Mother will star Ralphie May and Lavell Crawford as two siblings. But here's where it gets hilarious: One is black and one is white! Oh man! Ha ha ha! Wow. Comedy Central, indeed! [THR]

... Now for some bummer news. Jennifer Saunders, one half of the core of the cult hit Absolutely Fabulous, has been battling breast cancer for most of the last year. However, doctors say she is in remission. Even cancer knows not to mess with Edina Monsoon. [BBC]

... Pushing Daisies lead Lee Pace might have his next regular role. Pace has signed on for HBO's Miraculous Year, a drama about a Broadway composer and his family in New York. Law & Order's Linus Roache will also star. [EW]

... Urkel is getting charged with battery. Actor Jaleel White, who played the nerd on Family Matters, is being investigated by authorities after his baby mama claimed he punched her in the... ahem... breast implant. She also says he later slapped her and pushed her into a toilet. Is she sure she didn't just watch an old rerun of Family Matters? Because that sounds like something Urkel would do. [TMZ]
