TV.com's Fall 2010 Programming Guide

The temperature is dropping, leaves' colors are changing, and the kids are back to learning, but who cares about all that nonsense! It's Fall TV season! New shows are dropping, channels are changing, and it's time for you to learn about what's on! Carve out a spot on your couch, check out our 2010 Fall TV Guide, and let us know what shows you'll be watching this season.

Monday

Having a case of the Mondays isn't such a bad thing anymore. There's a reality hit, a long-running medical drama, and top-rated comedies on the docket, but keep an eye out for two of the most anticipated new shows of the season in The Event and Lone Star, which battle each other at 9 p.m.

Dr. House changes his name to Dr. Mobile Home.

8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

ABC
Dancing with the Stars
(Season 11 premiere, September 20, 8 p.m.)
Semi-famous and/or washed up celebrities try to not look ridiculous on the dance floor! Season 11!

CBS
How I Met Your Mother
(Season 6 premiere, September 20, 8 p.m.)
The identity of "the Mother" won't be happening for a while, but we'll probably see Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and Marshall (Jason Segel) take a stab at parenthood. Just imagine Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) as a babysitter and the inevitable Social Services fallout.

Rules of Engagement (Season 5 premiere, September 20, 8:30 p.m.)
David Spade is still on the air!

CW
90210
(Season 3 premiere, September 13, 8 p.m.)
This isn't yo daddy's 90210! This time it's about hot and sexy high school teens dealing with major drama. What? That's exactly what the old one was? Oh, okay. It is your daddy's 90210, minus the 30-year old trying to pass for a high schooler.

FOX
House
(Season 7 premiere, September 20, 8 p.m.)
Cranky yet brilliant Doctor House insults everyone then heals everyone. So when you get down to it, it's a wash.

NBC
Chuck
(Season 4 premiere, September 20, 8 p.m.)
NBC's lovable goober spy drama continues to thrill its passionate fanbase. This season will expand the show's affinity for stunt casting at ridiculous rates.

Oh my gosh! There's an Event headed straight for us!

9:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

CBS
Two and a Half Men
(Season 8 premiere, September 20, 9 p.m.)
Listen, the kid makes $250,000 an episode. It's gotta be good, right?

Mike and Molly (Series Premiere, September 20, 9:30 p.m.)
Melissa McCarthy, the original Sookie (St James, from Gilmore Girls) returns to TV opposite Billy Gardell in this new Chuck Lorre-produced sitcom about big love, cushion pushing, and heavy petting.

CW
Gossip Girl
(Season 4 premiere, September 13, 9 p.m.)
All summer they filmed in Paris, and reports said the French loved 'em. The French also love Jerry Lewis.

Fox
Lone Star
(September 20, 9 p.m.)
Yet another man on television leading a double life. But this time in Texas! This buzz-worthy drama marks the return of Jon Voight to television since his role as Hodges on 24.

NBC
The Event
(Series Premiere, September 20, 9 p.m.)
Touted as the next Lost by people who incorrectly tout things, this new adventure series has got a big enough budget to shoot a car/plane chase scene on a tarmac. The pilot episode hints at conspiracy theories, presidential assassination attempts, and stars a very believable Jason Ritter as everyman Sean Walker, a man who is just trying to do the right thing.

Duh duh duh duhh duhhhh duhhhh, duh duh duh duhh duhhhhh!

10:00 - 11:00 p.m.

ABC
Castle
(Season 3 premiere, September 20, 10 p.m.)
Last season's finale left us on a bittersweet note: Beckett (Stana Katic) was just about to confess her feelings to Castle (Nathan Fillion)—and then his dumb ex-wife had to show up and sweep him away to the Hamptons for the summer. Wonder how the months away will re-shape this love triangle...

CBS
Hawaii Five-O
(Series Premiere, September 20, 10 p.m.)
This reboot/remake of the classic action show features the same theme song and sense of fun, but adds Grace Park in a bikini. Now that's what we call progress.

NBC
The Chase
(Series Premiere, September 20, 10 p.m.)
U.S. Marshals hunt down America's most wanted and they do it with all kinds of Jerry Bruckheimer-produced kick-ass-ery.

TNT
Men of a Certain Age
(Season 2 premiere, November 29, 10 p.m.)
See this dream team of Ray Romano, Scott Bakula, and Andre Braugher work it out as middle-aged single men. It's funnier and more touching than you think.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that tv networks seem to think that their audiences are not smart enough to keep up with shows that have a storyline that last longer than one episode? Now that Lost, Heroes, 24, and Damages are gone it seems like every show is a crime show with a new stupid story each week. The Event is the only new show that half-way captured my attention, but it's on NBC and I am boycotting that network because of the unjustifed cancellation of Heroes!

No ordinary family looks awesome! Just go check out the promo. Up against some big hitters but I really hope it does well. I'd rather watch that than glee.

Any reason why SyFy isn't on here, or any of the other cable channels? TV.com used to be the "honest broker". Guess the networks are coming to rule the roost here, too.

I can't wait for fall shows to start again. I'm in total limbo right now. My summer shows have ended, fall shows aren't on yet, and I'm pretty sure I'm going through withdrawal.

Rob Morrow: Lets not be too quick to praise him! How quickly you forget he destroyed one of the best shows ever on TV: Northern Exposure because of his ego and greed. I will never forgive him for that, and neither should you! There is too much crap and too little quality on TV and Northern Exposure was among the best ever. He single-handedly destroyed it.

Wouldn't it be cool if Oprah interviewed Michael W. Smith and others alike him or groups like Mercy Me. They are great inspirational spiritual guides in Music. I read a comment on U tube they're awesome beautiful liberating songs. I would love for the world to hear them perform and change people's opinions about humanity's purpose in this world. Give it a try listening to great singers e.g. Draw me close, Forever, Open the eyes of my heart by Michel W Smith. Who doesn't want to feel true happiness.
