TV.com's Swell-o-vision vs. Hell-o-vision (April 2)

Here's what we thought was out of sight and just not right on TV this week.

Swell:

... David Eigenberg popping up on Justified
It was nice to see one of our favorite Sex and the City alums on one of our favorite new shows.

... Show's returning from extra-long breaks
Bones, Fringe, and 10 Things I Hate About You, you were gone too long.

... More Castle
We hoped but never actually thought that Nathan Fillion's show would get a second season, let alone a third.

... ANTM's vampire photo shoot
Blood and models are two of our favorite things. Throw in some Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie and we're in heaven.

... Television's newest cutest couple
The Sarah Silverman Program's Steve Agee and Brian Posehn—two dope-smoking gay nerds—have the most adorable relationship on TV right now. You know it's true.

Hell:

... V returns in 45:37 or whatever
The damn countdown clock during Lost totally ruined our night. Thanks a lot, ABC.

... Modern Family's iPad backlash
Yes, the backlash over the inclusion of the iPad. It wasn't even REAL product placement.

... Ryan Seacrest badgering Didi on American Idol
Just let it go, munchkin. She doesn't want to talk about it!

... Mad Men naming Elisabeth Moss a "supporting actress"
So January Jones has a better chance in the leading actress awards category? Pshhhhh!

... Kate Gosselin's breakdown on Dancing with the Stars
Awkward for everyone.

What's on your list of loves and hates this week?

  • chach21

loving Fringe, Supernatural, Grey's Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Mad Men, Lost (tho not sure if it's just a case of 'I've started so I'll finish') , looking forward to Stargate Universe returning. Don't ever watch Gossip Girl, Melrose Place, Beverly HIlls 90210 (these shows should be cancelled).

  • ApprovalLinda09

Smallville was my most favorite, loved, coming up second was Chuck, The Mentalist is always a delight. Fringe was a different reality for sure, The cast of Grey were on their toes in the hospital. The Listener was a repeat but always interesting and worth watching. Haven't watched Lost yet and don't plan on it Stargate Universe is confusing and the other new one in space, not into the Vampires, rediculous and Supernatural too weird. Castle and Bones are good mysteries and they focus on the characters and not to much violence.

  • PaulaBilyeu

I came to Castle late (best you Netflix for letting me catch up) and I have to say, it has become one of my must sees. Love it. Also on my happy list is The Mentalist and Bones and (damn it) NCIS.

  • tvqueen13

Was I the only one who watched Grey's Anatomy? I love that we found out a lot more about Korev and why he is the way he is! Also, totally love Bones, Fringe, Lost, V, The Mentalist, Castle, Dancing With The Stars, CSI, Supernatural, Stargate Universe, and The Vampire Diaries!!! Who says there's never anything good on to watch?!?

  • akesling

Of course Bones and Fringe was gone too long, but Fringe, most especially did NOT disappoint LOVE that show!

  • ja0725

I absolutely love the Castle show - I will always be home in time to watch it ORmy daughter-in-law records for me. I love the facial expressions - all around! Awesome!

  • elainecleo

Beckett and Castle are the best "couple" on TV, but do love the Damon/Elena/Stefan triangle on Vampire Diaries..hot stuff.

  • aislingxireland

    Yeah supernatural rocks!!!!

  • RobinVogel0

SUPERNATURAL rocked so hard! That show never fails to fascinate, challenge and make its viewers cry! It's the best show on TV, and because it's on the CW, has so few viewers, it's a crime! I sure hope it's picking up new viewers as a result of being shown on TNT in the mornings, because SUPERNATURAL has the best writing, direction and production values possible for a show with so little promotion from its network! Castle is one of the best programs on the air! The chemistry between Castle and Beckett is great to watch. She never fails to come up with just the right put-down. Love it! Love it!

  • BILOXIPAT

I don't watch any of this dreck except "Mad Men." Save for it, the rest is supernatural crap.

  • lucyinthesky666

The Vampire Diaries, ALSO ROCKED! As for everything else.... too many shows, too little time. I'll catch em on demand or when they replay....

  • lucyinthesky666

Supernatural Rocked, Fringe Rocked, Smallville was crap, Dancing with the Stars Sucks, Lost was great (any REAL fan would agree), Don't Watch Bones religiously, but heard it was good, Stargate Universe was Ok, Didn't catch all of 90210, but what I did see was good, Melrose place sucked as per usual *should be cancelled NOW*, Can't wait for the new season of Doctor Who (although, so far from the previews, I already don't like the new doctor), and patiently awaiting True Blood and Hung honestly!! lol

  • Arithon_UK

Highlight of the week- New Doctor Who, worst TV Smallville couldn't finish watching it, it was that bad.

  • dwfan6995

Can't wait until April 17. I will be planted on the couch waiting for the 5th series and the new doctor

  • erhabori

    nothing about the new doctor?

  • hockeyrick

    Kate who?Who gives a sh@@@@@@@@!

  • fatfreeoreos

Bones and Fringe coming back was definitely the highlight.

  • Amber132

Nothing about Supernatural's heaven episode? I thought it was pretty good and an interesting view on heaven. Also JrEdwards0, its Smallville what did you expect? Though I do have to agree with you it seems like Smallville is turning into a crappy romcom with Clark Kent being Superman as a side story.

  • vmandkingdomfan

    LOVED the vampire photo shoot.

  • JrEdwards0

I thought this week's episode of Smallville was absolutely terrible. More pointless bed-hopping than a daytime soap, a cliched and predictable dialogue and haunted house in the woods theme, not to mention yet another phantom-type villian. Didn't they wear that out 3 years ago? Yes, yes they did.

  • fweak

My current favorite on-screen couple is April and Andy on Parks and Recreation. Well they are ALMOST a couple.

  • OrSoIThought

Oh, and to that first part....I don't actually think that's cool that she eats people...lol. I just liked that they did it the way they did. It was kind of corny and expected but they still somehow managed to pull it off.

  • OrSoIThought

I enjoyed Anna from V eating her mate. She has really big teeth! I also enjoyed Chuck's twist and Awesome getting arrested. Haha...jail.

  • karlwolfe50

great was the reruns of the office wedding and office baby back to back. worst thing was the incredibly mediocre episode of lost

  • trishuhhh

    bones/fringe were great!

  • karlwolfe50

    supernatural was the worst

  • bouljujube

Hello, I think you forgot the Supernatural comeback, It was a GREAT episode!
