TV.com's Swell-o-vision vs. Hell-o-vision (Dec. 4)

Temperatures are plummeting all over the country—I heard it was 60 degrees in Los Angeles the other day! (Make sure your toy chihuahua has an extra warm D&G vest on, celebs!) But here at TV.com, things are always hot and cold. Here's what gave us the warm fuzzies and what left us shivering this week:

Hello, I'll take my Emmy now.

We'll snuggle by the fireplace with these:

Monk: graciously bows out after eight fine seasons
An annual comedy Emmy nomination slot is now open. Thank you Mr. Monk, for putting cable comedy on the map.

Parks and Rec: the fourth floor of Pawnee City Hall
Filled with miscreants, parolees, substance abusers, and popcorn, it sounds a lot like the TV.com offices.

Wanda Sykes: Improving to not-exactly-horrible in late night!
Hey, we're just as surprised as you are!

Glee: The mattress commercial
Mattresses AREN'T just for sleeping and fornicating anymore—they're spring boards for Van Halen covers!

MTV's Jersey Shore
Hell yeah! We can't stop watching!

Yo, we'll take your girlfriend now!

Please shovel these out of our driveway:

The Office getting more and more depressing
No college funds for kids, Jim stuck in middle management... I know the paper business was hit hard by the recession, but how about a little ray of sunshine here?

FlashForward's dialogue
"Persian woman, Persian food, Yahtzee!" Need we say more?

Top Chef: Padma's new bangs
Sometimes a recipe doesn't need to be tinkered with!

The Jay Leno Show debacle
NBC had some of its best 10pm ratings on Tuesday... when Leno was bumped for Obama. Plus, reruns are outperforming it. Is this experiment over yet?

The long winter breaks!
Glee off 'til April? Supernatural gone 'til late January? FlashForward missing 'til March? Actually that last one isn't so bad...

MTV's Jersey Shore
Oh no! We can't stop watching!

I totally agree about the Office. I have never gone from loving a show to hating one this fast. I've actually stopped watching it. I think it's time for the show to be put out to be pasture or a major overhaul is needed. Sad, sad, sad (

dammit, mtv somehow made us addicted to their contents despite the fact it's bad for our morals: just like cigarettes!

The Office "depressing"?! The only thing depressing about this is how bad tv.com's sense of humor is.

And that's so funny about Leno. I knew it wouldn't work. Bring back our NBC shows!

I loved Monk's final episodes. That's the way to end a long-loved series. I also found The Office depressing. Dwight has moved from oddly funny to just plain mean. I'm still not getting into Parks and Rec.

I think FlashForward isn't really going the way many expected because it kinda came along mid-season and you still had a lot of the big guns still running at that time. Maybe the break will bring out the true fanatics and bring in a more loyal following.

I'm not sure any context can make Flashforward's dialogue seem intelligent

Taken out of context the Flashforward quote seems bad, but it made sense in the scene.
