What to Watch Tonight: How I Met Your Mother, Teen Wolf, and the Season 18 Premiere of Dancing With the Stars

What to watch on Monday, March 17...

7pm, Cartoon Network
Adventure Time
Upon finding “Billy’s Bucket List,” Finn pays tribute to the intrepid soul by checking off the incomplete items. That’s followed by Finn’s first introduction to Billy in “His Hero.”

SEASON 18 PREMIERE, 8pm, ABC
Dancing With the Stars
Former competition finalist Erin Andrews joins the show as a co-host, and a Jason Derulo performance accompanies the dancers’ opening number. But those aren’t the only changes in store for this season: At some point, viewers will be able to vote to switch up the dance partners. Celebrities hoping to make it to that point and beyond include Candace Cameron Bure, Drew CareyNeNe Leakes, Danica McKellar, and Billy Dee Williams.

8pm, CBS
How I Met Your Mother
“Gary Blauman” sees the titular fellow (Taran Killam) arriving at the inn—and triggering memories of prior run-ins he’s had with each member of the gang. Except for Robin, probably; I’m guessing she’s never seen this chump before in her life.

8pm, Fox
Bones
A repo man turns up in a septic tank in “The Repo Man in the Septic Tank,” because sometimes episode titles do my job for me. Meanwhile, the Jeffersonian takes on a Cuban defector as an intern, and Brennan and Booth contemplate their daughter’s need (or lack thereof) for spiritual education.

8pm, ABC Family
Switched at Birth
Nikki pops back into town unexpectedly in “The Ambush,” but will her reunion with Toby take a troublesome turn? Meanwhile, Bay and Daphne get fired up for the field hockey team’s big game as the Carlton-Buckner rivalry spikes.

NEW TIME PERIOD, 9pm, The CW
The Tomorrow People
The Tomorrovians and Ultra both set their sights on a break-out who’s playing good Samaritan in “Superhero.” Elsewhere, Morgan goes behind Jedikiah’s back while Hillary doubts Stephen’s true allegiance.

9pm, Syfy
Being Human
Aidan finds his relationships with both Sally and Suzanna deepening in “Oh Don’t You Die for Me.” In other goings-on, Josh’s attempts to patch things up with Nora hit a few snags.

9pm, ABC Family
The Fosters
With the school’s Winter Ball around the corner, Mariana and Jesus stress about their possible companions for the big event. Meanwhile in “Metropolis,” Zac’s mom has a chat with Lena, Brandon faces the fallout from a past error, and Callie greets an old friend hoping to mend fences.

9pm, TNT
Dallas
Audrey Landers, Steve Kanaly, and Charlene Tilton are among those cordially invited to the nuptials at Southfork in “Lifting the Veil,” but groom John Ross seems to have vanished. As Sue Ellen debates canceling the event, Christopher returns from Mexico just in time to notice the sparks between Nicolas and Elena.

9pm, Fox
The Following
In “Unmasked,” a crucial clue about the FBI mole may give Ryan, Max, and Weston the edge in their battle of… well, of whatever the opposite of “wits” is. In Murdertopia, Joe and Micah plot to send a message to Ryan and the world, possibly with a “spontaneous” selfie that gets retweeted a whole bunch.

NEW TIME PERIOD, 10pm, A&E
Bates Motel
The motel welcomes Norma’s brother in “Caleb,” while Norman welcomes a new connection with a townie girl and Norma welcomes an anti-bypass ally.

10pm, ABC
Castle
In “The Way of the Ninja,” a ballet dancer is slain by a ninja assassin who subsequently sets his sights on the investigating Castle and Beckett. This synopsis might've sounded more surprising if I weren’t convinced that an entire subgenre of “Nathan Fillion vs. ninjas” fan fiction already exists.

10pm, NBC
The Blacklist
Criminal big shot “Mako Tanida” is the team’s next target. He’s also a onetime associate of Red’s who busts out of prison with vengeance on his mind.

10pm, FX
Archer
With Archer, Ray, and Cyril facing imminent doom down South America way, Lana and Pam devise a cunning plan in “Archer Vice: The Rules of Extraction.” Okay, granted, it’s a plan that involves a spa visit for Malory and doesn’t seem to involve the guys at all. But hey, they’ll probably be fine… right?

10pm, MTV
Teen Wolf
Early buzz suggests that a main character shall bite the dust in “Insatiable,” which pits Kira against a surprising foe. After that, the episode will come to your house, give you a paper cut, and squirt some lemon juice on it. Because that’s just how Teen Wolf rolls, y’all.

10pm, Syfy
Lost Girl
While the shock of Bo’s revelation ripples through the gang in “Waves,” Kenzi enlists Lauren and Dyson for some undercover corporate espionage.

10:30pm, Cartoon Network
Rick and Morty
“Rixty Minutes” finds Rick reconfiguring the cable box to receive TV from other realities. Preliminary research shows that in at least 65 of them, Jay Leno has already reclaimed The Tonight Show.

11pm, Showtime
Inside Comedy
Sketch stars Key & Peele and sitcom/ensemble film veteran Garry Marshall discuss their respective comedic oeuvres.

Sometimes the little notification at the top doesn't show all the shows you are following. I also noticed that tonights episode of bitten isn't in the episode guide. It says the next ep. isn't until the 31st.

And The Blacklist, which isn't listed her, but is already recycling "someone's out to get Red!" plotlines.
