TV.com's Top 100 Everything of 2009: 10-1

Ladies and gentlemen, the final ten...

10. Christopher Walken reads Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" on BBC1's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross

It's difficult to measure Christopher Walken's immense contribution to society. Everything he touches turns to gold.

9. John Lithgow on Dexter

Lithgow's performance as the Trinity Killer gave the show its creepiest murderer yet.

8. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's "Kitten Mittens"

Please say this doesn't count as animal torture.

7. Abed as Batman on Community

Abed is an awesome character as it is, but his Batman act was truly great.

6. Mad Men's costumes and props

Betty's Rome outfit and hairdo were spot on. And her fainting couch wasn't just a set piece—it was an important symbol of her eventual mental and physical liberation from Don.

5. Supernatural's fake "Changing Channels" opening credits

Town to town, two-lane roads, the family biz, two hunting bros, living the lie, just to get by! As long as we're movin' forward, there's nothing we can't do... (Click the photo to see the video.)

4. Daniel Frickin' Faraday

Lost's skinny physicist was the hero of Season 5.

3. Jane Lynch on Glee

Her delivery of hilariously offensive one-liners is what gives the show its bite.

2. David Letterman's on-air confession

Audience members didn't know how to react when they realized Letterman
wasn't kidding. The whole thing was totally bizarre... and gripping.

1. The Modern Family pilot

We thought the network sitcom was dead. We were so, so wrong. More than just half an hour of laughs, Modern Family proved that a family-oriented sitcom can be daring, intelligent, and heart-warming at the same time.

My favorite moment was when Don left his girlfriend du jour out in the car all night while Betty tore him a new one. As for the rest of these, I have not seen a single episode. Who watches that drivel??

Supernatural's opening credits was just..hilarious! and Jane...Glee wouldn't be that awesome without her ;)

I'm glad you mentioned Daniel Faraday...A very interesting character, played exceptionally well by Jeremy Davies.

Tkpanda, I will counter your rating of 1, with a rating of 10.

I was a little worried about the top 10 but with the exception of the Mad Men propaganda and Supernatural BS, you delivered. What I like about Lost is that somehow it's in the most unlikely of characters and the most unknown of actors they find a bit of salavation. Jane Lynch ROCKS! It's high time everyone knows it even if it comes from the superhyped musical soap for teens..; and well... Modern Family! Finally a comedy that's funny... been waiting for a new one since the 30 Rock pilot and long live to both of them!

tkpanda I think you're taking this a bit too seriously, freak-e719 just called you lame for posting a comment every other hour and now you're saying that he's creating multiple accounts to vote something up, pff...

And the Supernatural opening should have been no.1 of this century, Modern Family seems like crap and what's so special about Faraday?

well theres 7 more votes on modern family pilot but its still at 7.2, probly cuz freak-e719 is makin clone accounts like the loser he is, but keep voting modern family pilot a 1 guys

Yeah, I was hoping to see Chuck on here, too. Show was pretty mediocre for a long time, but the second half of the last season was fantastic.

Loved Abed as Batman. I also agree with Sue on Glee, Kitten Mittens and Letterman's confession. I like Modern Family a lot, but I don't know if the pilot should be #1. I've been waiting to see Chuck on the list. The final moments of the Chuck season finale make the top of my list.

what is this web obsession with "LOST". dear god, do you have to put it on every list even if it doesnt make any sense. Its a nice show and all, I mean I do watch it. but comon the last 2 seasons were not that good and the show is deteriorating. So stop with this obsession with "LOST". if you want to put it on a list I'd put some as an annoying charecter like Locke who I really really want the show to kill him off because he is annoying

Modern Family probably shouldn't be number one, but it's a hilarious show. I don't understand why people, like tkpanda, would waste their time trying to bring down the score for the ep. Saying that it's a good show isn't agreeing with the staff, its not being blind and deaf. It might not be your type of show but honestly why do you think you have to work for tv.com to think it's funny? Ridiculous...

Modern Family is number 1? I watched the pilot too, and it did not make me want to watch anymore. Good pick with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's "Kitten Mittens" and Mad Men's costumes and props.

I am so glad that they decided to put Supernatural's fake credits in, the whole episode was hilarious.

Oh man! I loved Supernatural's "Changing Channels!" It was hilarious! Favorite things of 2009.... Chuck, Big Bang Theory, Star Trek/Zachary Quinto as Spock!, and the season finale of Scrubs last year (what I consider the series finale).

More Community love, very nice. Also great to see Faraday and Supernatural on the list, too.

I still don't see how Modern Family made it on, though. I thought the pilot was pretty God-awful but... to each his own, I suppose.

Really? All the amazing things LOST offered this year, and Daniel Faraday was in the top 10? Were you not watching when they finally showed the Tawaret statue, or when Juliet smashed the hydrogen bomb with a rock, or when Rose and Bernard *quit* the Losties? I think the Jughead detonation was way better than Faraday's arc in the season.

i don't even like modern family

wow the tv.com staff needs to rethink atleast half of their top 10, especcially the modern family being number 1, its a funny show, but best tv item of the year? wow

I love the fact that they put John Lithglow in the top 10 but no mention of the season 4 finale of Dexter come on.
