Also, is it possible for anyone to do a weekly review for Nikita? It's a great show and I can't stand to see it go unnoticed by anyone.

Price, I know that you're busy doing photo-recaps for TVD & AHS and I love you for it, but are you ever gonna finish doing the Veronica Mars recaps?!

Also, I can't download the podcasts from iTunes for some reason.

Well, it doesn't look like Mockingbird Lane is ever gonna be more than a Halloween special:( A 1.5 rating isn't that great. I really enjoyed the pilot, because unlike Price, I really like this comedic horror stuff in this usually so serious and dark tv world.

And why don't you make a section for these pre-screener stuff, maybe every once in a while in the podcast. I found it really interesting and funny what they do, because I never heard about this before. And this way you'll be able to talk about it even if you can't write about it in the reviews! I just hope I'm not the only one:P

I've been looking at the 4-episode polls, and I'm not surprised that the 3 top rated shows are Last Resort, Go On, and Revolution. The lowest rated shows are 666 Park Avenue, and also Revolution. I think one thing it might help the fanboi viewers to understand is that Tim is a bit harsh on reviewing Revolution because it promised to be so much more than it is. He gave The Neighbors a pass (and it's mediocre at best) but it is what it is: a stupid, slapstick type comedy. Revolution, by contrast, is based on a great premise with miles of room for growth and development, and it's failing to deliver much as Terra Nova did. The harshness is justified. We watch because we want a really good story, and we're angry because it keeps falling short. If NBC wanted a better response, they should have promised a smaller story.

"It wasn't that bad." We can say that about most things on TV at any given time, and I agree that TV is the best it's ever been. As much as I loved the original Star Trek, it seems quite primitive by comparison now. I just watched the second episode of Arrow and I found it tedious and mean-spirited. I would hate to live in a city like that. The show just has too many problems that I don't think will get better, and not that I don't like things that are dark in nature because a good show that is dark, like Dexter, can be very satisfying when it's good - like this season so far. One of my favorite things is having good TV year round with all the good stuff cable has to offer and sometimes it's nice to just stop watching something that stops being entertaining and just watch something else. I did this with both House and NCIS and have no regrets. I'm currently watching two shows that I passed on the first time around and am enjoying them both - The West Wing and Alias. I love TV and that's why I'm a fan of TV.COM and your podcasts and love to read your reviews - both of you as well as some others, most notably, Lily. Yes, have her on, please. And lastly, YES, please move Last Resort before it gets cancelled and I'm glad you recognize this as the problem even though you aren't the ones who can make this decision but I like to think with - what is it now, trillions of listeners - you do have some influence...

i totally agree about letting foreign actors playing foreign characters, i love foreign accents and it adds more depth to the character and doesn't confine the actor to an american accent. idk i just love accents espesh british and australian

I agree TV reviewers are authorities, as they should be hired experts in their filed. But it would help to know more about the background of each reviewer. Journalism? Digital Communication? Obsessive TV Watching?

I think 666 Park Avenue is developing nicely. And the Kandinsky story line with Aubrey Dollar was simply great!

Thanks Price and Tim for such a nice shout-out. No pressure, no pressure...

And I thought you guys were magic and could write a review 10 minutes after a show airs. But I guess the screeners thing make sense.

So glad someone else is also starting to like Lori this season. I thought I was losing my mind and was afraid to tell anyone! The internet is a scary place for a Lori fan.

Also, why would you not like Bryan Fuller, Price? Why??? Pushing Daisies may have a bit too sweet, but how about Wonderfalls? Or Dead Like Me?! I guess I'm a slight fanboy when it comes to Bryan Fuller :)

And since there's so much pressure to write good comments now, here's a joke:

What do you get when you cross a snake and a hedgehog? Barbed wire. Haha. Sorry...

I didn't really care for Dead Like Me, but in my defense, Fuller did leave pretty early in season 1 due to fights with MGM. (Also: before this goes any further, we will not talk about Dead Like Me: Life After Death. It didn't happen.)

What didn't happen?.. :)

he's referring to the Dead Like Me movie from 2009. Most DLM fans hated the movie. It's funny that since I didn't really like the show, I actually found the movie more interesting because of the way the main character was more evolved and grownup.

OK, i forgot to read between the lines. What lines? Exactly...

No, I guess I'm still doing it wrong.
Flag
Yea I know. I was trying to be clever :D You know how it goes:

- Let's pretend that didn't happen

- What didn't happen?

- Exactly..

When are the four episode tests coming out?

I agree with your point about Ursula Parker (Lily on Louie) on 666 Park Avenue. Every time her character appeared I expected her to go "Daddy..." like she does on Louie. (I feel the same about Jim Carrey. I cannot take him seriously in dramas. Every time he is on screen, I expect him to pull a crazy face.)

I totally agree about Lori in The Walking Dead! She's become so much more sympathetic and likable enough to the point that I got mad at Rick last week for being mad at her. OK maybe she was a little manipulative about Shane, but the guy was trying to kill Rick! Dude had it coming.

But for all her faults last season, I was more irritated with the writers than with Lori. Because she is not real, but the writers are and thought it'd be a good idea to have Lori flip her car on a wide open stretch of road like an utter cliche of a ladydriver. Ugh. Thx for all the strong female characters, TWD (/sarcasm).

But this season they really have made many amends through Michonne and BAMF-ing Maggie up. And even Carol and Lori now too! Keep it uuup!

While I agree with the whole accent thing, because sometimes when Australian/Kiwis try to put on US accent's they really struggle (we do British accents well though!) and it just makes things even worse. I really don't like listening to Australian accents against British/US accents, and I'm from Australia so I love my own accent (not really, it's boring) but I just think it sounds so much less polished than other accents when you put it in the mix. The guy on House was okay, but it just sounds grating to me and makes me cringe. I don't know if anyone else feels the same....so maybe Aussies just have to brush up on their US accents...or just make them all british (i.e. Claire Holt is good but Phoebe Tonkin's isn't awesome) =) just some thoughts!

1. More Yiddish = higher ratings

2. I have a friend who's been in radio and then podcasts for over 20 years: We LOVE the inside stuff was always the feedback.

3. Screeners? Never heard of em. Never seen them before they actually air...

4. No music: Buffy - The Body ugh

5. TVD - Price, you nailed it. ANY ep of TVD is like the season finale. Hence why its great.

6. Tim, Why the F aren't you watching the League? People who like comedy and don't watch the League are like people who don't watch Its Always Sunny. And Jenny the main female of The League is the best on TV.

7. Fake Accents - Julian Sark/David Anders=Alias Spike/James Marsters=Buffy. I hate the faking accents too. Except on True Blood. That might be weird.

8. Mockingbird Lane taking the Battlestar Route Mini series/One ep to series. But after that talk, maybe not. Hearing Pushing Daisies bad talk hurts the Piemakers heart.

9. Helps between the two of you, I've got some good shows covered. Homeland talk Tim? "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." He's the BEST.

Of course professional TV reviewers have to give their honest opinion about a show, that's what makes a review interesting, the fact it's done with honesty and sincerity, even if the review is negative. On the other hand, it's a real treat for the fans when the reviewer happens to be an unconditional fan even if the show is of questionable quality, as with the case of Price and teen monster shows. Fans are simply delighted.

What I have problems with is when people throw all their negativity into a show they don't like, are very vocal about their desire for the show to be canceled, and seem to draw pleasure from the fact the fans feel miserable if that happens. I try not to do that. I didn't go to a The Secret Circle board to gloat about its cancellation even if I felt the show was very bad. What would be the point except irritate the fans? That wouldn't be good for me or for them.

That DVD screener with fake voices was hilarious! The guy's voice replacing Kat's voice in Alphas sounded like Fargo's voice in Eureka when Sarah, the IA house, spoke.

So Price absolutely loves The Vampire Diaries and hates Pushing Daisies. Yep, it's official. Price and I will never agree on anything.

Idea for next week: with Last Resort looking like a potential 'sunk' cost (haha see what I did there? I'm great!), you could add that show to a long list of early dead great shows. So what are your favourite early dead shows (or a phrase better than that)? Obviously Firefly is the one with all the post recognition, but I'm gonna stick with Awake, that show was amazeballs!

Hahaha, oh my God, I love the thought of Lily living in True Blood's fairy night club! This is so weird but totally fits to the imagine I have of her personality. It would be great to hear her on the podcast!

I really like that you guys talked about Carl some more! I commented on Tim's review and noticed he didn't mention him in there. Great to hear Carl's behavior didn't go unnoticed.

Also, Price talking about TVD again = always a plus! But it's so funny that Tim can't say anything about it and always goes "yeah" and "u-huh" ;)

BOO ALIENS. Boo aliens forever. BUTT, exorcisms are awesome.

It might be too early in the game to start this debate but Rubber Man vs. Bloody Face, anyone? I totally agree that Bloody Face looked way better this week (I totally laughed when I saw him in the first episode) but I'm still kind of getting a silly slasher villain vibe off of him, or worse yet, a Joel Schumacher Bane vibe.

*GASP* Price, you didn't like Pushing Daisies?! Or Wonderfalls?! Well, I'll be...!

Thanks guys for pointing out that Mockingbird Lane will be on this Friday. I had kind of been looking forward to it because I am a fan of Fuller's, and yet I had NO IDEA that they were airing the pilot already. I'll be watching. Also, Portia de Rossi!

I also agree about a lot of foreign actors that speak with "American accents" on shows possibly having a tougher time showing some... character, I guess. Despite her high number of fans, I know some people that didn't particularly like Olivia Dunham because of Anna Torv's acting, and I always argued that her acting was fine, but maybe a focus on not showing her accent sometimes made her sound monotone. Same for Charlie Hunnam as Jax Teller, or Alex O'Loughlin as Steve McGarrett. Damian Lewis as Nick Brody seems okay though, as does Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes. Or may not... there are a couple of times throughout the series in both Homeland and The Walking Dead where I notice them having a little trouble keeping their accents in during certain phrases or sentences. I guess it really depends on the actor and the character they're playing.
