Twin Peaks: The Full 200-Plus Cast List Is the Weirdest Cast Ever

Filming has wrapped on Showtime's highly-anticipated Twin Peaks revival, so naturally, series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost are doing us all a solid and finally revealing the entire, weird, long, official cast list for the series so we can stop wondering about who's returning, who's not, and who's joining the series 25 years after Laura Palmer's death introduced us to this weird little world.

And it's a long list that may actually be weirder than the original inhabitants of Twin Peaks. Some of those new but familiar faces joining Kyle MacLachlan in the revival include Michael Cera, Amanda Seyfried, Tim Roth, Tom Sizemore, and Jennifer Jason Leigh who all seem particularly Lynchian. But wait, there's more! I mean LOTS more. Like 200-plus cast members more. And they're even weirder.

Among the other casting highlights are Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, your dad's favorite comedian Jim Belushi (WHAT!?!?!?), Justified's awesome Jeremy Davies, the previously announced Laura DernMad Men's Jay R. FergusonRobocop's Miguel Ferrer, weirdo comic Brett GelmanGhostbusters' Ernie Hudson, Ashley JuddPrison Break's Robert KnepperSuburgatory's Jane LevyThe Bridge's Matthew Lillard, Harry Dean StantonMy Name is Earl's Ethan SupleeGossip Girl's Jessica Szohr, Pearl Jam crooner Eddie Vedder, and Californication's Madeline Zima. PHEW. And that's just a small chunk!

For a full list of all 200-plus cast members, check out the wonky PDF list that Showtime sent out, because even they couldn't be bothered with typing them all out again. We feel you, Showtime.

*Those with an asterisk next to their name are returning cast members.

Twin Peaks will debut on Showtime in 2017. What do you make of that cast?

Twin Peaks 1.0 will remain the classic series... This one will be bigger, more colorful, better pictures... but often the story suffers under these superlatives...

This is such a hollywood move that I can only hope it's a hoax.

Where's the kitchen sink? If this is to be a 10 show run, that's 20 sightings plus per episode. Fun stuff.

Rumors are that it will be two seasons.

200 cast members? Perhaps Lynch is going Hitchcock mad and having a serious amount of cameos. It wouldn't exactly be unlike him to have known actors merely in foregrounds etc.

"Justified's awesome Jeremy Davies"

Oh Kaitlin - this makes me so sad - he should forever be known as 'LOST's Awesome Jeremy Davies'

Nice to see Cathrine E. Coulson's name there (given hear death). And I'm really happy to see David Duchovny back. But no Michael J. Anderson??? :( HUGE dissapointment.

This cast list is entirely too big. I mean sure, I knew several of these were going to be in it but the entire amount strikes me as a practical joke or fake out. How on earth will Lynch feature everyone?

The thing is with Lynch though (and this is just my observation) -- when you look at things like FWWM (the movie) he put Heather Graham (and David Bowie among many others) as top billing in the opening credits, but the film itself (NOT counting the deleted scenes, or his intended 3.5+ hour film he intended) they only had minutes and seconds in some case of air time. He loves his cameos. I think most of these people will pop up here and there and that will be about it. Again, just my observation but I also think this is likely Lynch's last project as far as films or TV goes (unless he decides to do another one day before he dies....). So he's going out with a bang, and working with a lot of people that he has worked with in the past in other work (like Balthazar Getty in Lost Highway, Laura Dern in almost everything he's ever done.... etc).

I'm most excited for the return of Denise (Duchovny) -- and I'm just happy we are getting SOMETHING Lynch. :)

That would make sense. Fire Walk With Me did have an odd way of listing the credits.

It'd be interesting to see how they handle Duchovny's character in present day.

I get the impression there's going to be a LOT of cameos.

you took my 3 paragraph comment and just basically explained what I was saying above. lol. I feel like a lot of these people could easily fit in just wandering around Twin Peaks... being creepy. Because yanno... Reasons. It'll be fun I think.

200 appearances/13 episodes = approx. 15 appearances per episode. For a 45 minute episode that's only an average of 3 minutes per person.

I think it'll be avg. of 50mins/ep. Still 13 episodes would be too few, it has to be more than that. How many new character can they even introduce?
