The low-key nuptials took place on Saturday in front of a small group of family and friends in the Seychelles, according to newspaper reports.
The pair met in 2007 when Van Outen, 35, was a judge and 27-year-old Mead was a contestant on BBC One's Any Dream Will Do.
Mead went on to win the talent show, landing the starring role in the musical Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
The happy couple were pictured clutching champagne glasses and sharing a kiss.
Van Outen wore a strapless, floor-length white dress and seventies-style headband while Mead was in a pale grey suit and pink shirt, sporting a flower garland around his neck.
Van Outen, who once dated Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay, made her name presenting The Big Breakfast in the mid-1990s and went on to star in West End musicals.
