Veronica Mars creator gets new gig

Veronica Mars may have just recently been officially canceled, but it didn't take long for its creator to find another place of employment.

Rob Thomas has taken on the role of executive producer for ABC's new comedy Miss/Guided, says E! Online's Kristin Veitch. Thomas allegedly confirmed the move to Veitch yesterday, just one day after he confirmed that Veronica Mars was officially canceled.

"I'm the new show runner on Miss/Guided, the Judy Greer half-hour mid-season for ABC," Thomas reportedly told Veitch. "It was created by a talented first-year Office writer named Caroline Williams."

Miss/Guided was officially picked up by ABC at the network's upfronts last month and is expected to debut sometime in 2008. The show follows a high-school guidance counselor who works at the school she once attended. Greer, who played the bosom-exposing secretary Kitty Sanchez on Arrested Development, stars as the lead character Becky.

Wish he was doing a teen dramedy with a spunky perky blonde, but if that's not happening, then I wish him the best.

Everyone knew what a great producer he was from the work he done on Veronica Mars and some one was bound to snatch him up quickly. I'm sure he is being payed well for it too.

Then Whedon should take over VM, and try to get picked up by another network. (Not FOX) Maybe USA or Lifetime.

He has plenty of time to work out another show while producing this one. Give the man some time to work on other projects

Well I hope it works out for Thomas, but it doesn't seem right he should be creating another show.

but great for RT.. just hope it doesn't stand in the way of future Veronica Mars project like a movie (that would be sooo awsome going to the theatre to see Veronica :-) )
