Veronica Mars producer creates new show

Diane Ruggiero, executive producer of The CW's mystery-drama Veronica Mars, will create a new one-hour show for the network. The action/comedy is being described as "Sex and the City meets Batman," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The untitled show follows two young women who team up to fight crime. The girls are endowed with superpowers that are only active when the two are together, a la DC Comics' The Wonder Twins.

Veronica Mars is in its third season. The series, which received only a 13-episode order from the network, is holding steady in the ratings.

Over the summer, Mars creator Rob Thomas said he was "acting like a man who got a full season."

Sex and the City meets Batman?Seriously...After watching Heroes(which I LOVE), does anyone think there could be a better show about people with superpowers?Get over it and focus on Veronica Mars!It really needs a full season and more after that, all teens(and not only) love it.

Has anyone heard about a 4th season yet? or is it still too early to be thinking about that?

I REALLY love this show. I have gotten most of my co-workers and friends hooked on it as well.

I think Veronica Mars is a great serial... and canceling it after the third season would be a mistake.

I can't wait to see the next episode of Veronica Mars. This is the second best show after Prison Break

I really enjoy this show. It's clever and enjoyable. It will most likely hit the dust like all the shows I enjoy. I'm so tired of shows like ER. Big whoop. They have been around forever. This show is fresh.

Veronica Mars should get a full season pick up.

They should give Veronica Mars a full season!! It's one of the more creative "teen series" going on right now. And the new show does sound maybe a little too much like Birds of Prey...

The CW's viewer's got angry with the canceling of Everwood. A lot have decided to not support the CW because of this and other decisions Dawn Ostroff has made. That puke green color is nasty also. I only watch VM, SV and SN on that channel anymore.

Veronica Mars should get a full season. CW have got nothing else anyway.

I love Veronica Mars. It is one of the best shows that the CW has besides SuperNatural and Gilmore girls.

Hmmm...I wonder if this new show gleaned any inspiration from the 70s Krofft Sat. morning hit "Electra Woman and DynaGirl"
Nah.

Aquaman was cancelled, so this looks like it'll be their new superhero drama. I wonder whose spot it will take over (Runaway, 7th Heaven, some other show?).

I swear, I will stop watching the CW if VM doesn't get a full season!

This show looks kinda cool, will check it out once it starts airing (if VM gets a full season :D ). :)

The new show sounds interesting. Sounds a bit comicky though, but thats not necessarily a bad thing. I hope Veronica Mars gets a full season.

um... this sounds like Birds of Prey to me. If you're going to revive it, at least revive the ACTUAL SHOW.
I agree with LincolnBurrows- bring the Birds back before creating a new one. With BIrds, they'd already have 13 episodes & somewhere to go with the second season.

The CW will order more Veronica Mars episodes when it performs better. In case you havent noticed the CW hasn't ordered full seasons for any show yet. It is unwise for a new network to do so.

Give Veronica Mars a full season (22 episodes) and more seasons after that. Bring up Aquaman already. Bring back Birds Of Prey. And then *MAYBE* I'd be interested in a Sex & The City meets Batman series. ... Maybe.

Veronica is one of the best shows on TV and NEEDS A FULL SEASON and subsequent seasons! This show really isn't related to VM since its just the producer aka the person with $$$ picking up a new show to produce. If it was a new Rob Thomas project, that would be something to get excited about.

Veronica Mars is probably one of the best teen-shows since Buffy, I really do hope CW gets to their senses and order a full season NOW!
