Vikings Season 3 Will Premiere On...

It's time to sharpen your axe, tighten those braids, and pop a few 'shrooms (okay, it's always time for that) because History has set a premiere date for the third season of Vikings. Ragnar—pardon me, KING Ragnar—returns to our world on Thursday, February 19 at 10pm. Just like Seasons 1 and 2, Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes.

And ooh la la, those 10 episodes will see our brutish friends knocking on—and then kicking down—the front door of Paris! I can't wait to see what they do to Euro Disney. Ragnar will also be dealing with King Ecbert's (continued) promises of land and riches.

In addition to announcing a premiere date, History also released details on four of the new characters we'll be meeting in Season 3. Kalf (Ben Robson) is Lagertha's handsome second-in-command who may be more ambitious than she thinks; Harbard (The Strain's Kevin Durand) is a stranger who has a mystical connection to Queen Aslaug, Siggy, and Helga; Emperor Charles of France (Lothaire Bluteau) sounds like a guy who's going to get his face punched in by Ragnar; and Princess Gisla (Morgane Polanski) is Charles' daughter, so you know she'll be trouble.

Are you ready for Vikings to return? Did you know we named the show one of the best dramas of 2014?

Will this be on Amazon Prime at the same time as the US, as History Channel in the UK is only showing series 2 of Vikings this year, fortunately I have Amazon so have already watched the 2nd series and I'm craving for the 3rd!

omg, omg, omg....the second season was a slight let down after the incredible first, but damn it, I'm going to be spending the first couple weeks of February trippin' out on a mountain top in anticipation

ok well, I'll be spending the first couple weeks of February clearing room in my viewing schedule, but it's not that different....I mean, right? sigh....

So tired of Pawn Stars and American Pickers. Show less episodes of their shows, use money to give us more Vikings episodes...........

I was hoping for January but February would of course be my second choice, Vikings is one of my favorite shows so the more of it the better, I hope it last a long time.

Season 1 of Vikings took place in 793 AD, and Season 3 around 797 AD. Therefore, assuming historical accuracy, Emperor Charles is THE Charles, aka Charlemange. Somehow I think it's Ragnar's face getting punched if he picks that fight.
