Volkswagen is Doing the Star Wars Thing for the Super Bowl Again (VIDEO)

Remember this? Of course you do, because the internet loves a good Star Wars homage.

Volkswagen knows this; as such, the company is once again going the Star Wars route for the Super Bowl—the game is on February 5—and has released the following "Game Day Commercial Teaser." I'm ignoring the nagging thought in my head that's disgustedly exclaiming, "A preview for a commercial?" because instead of an adorable mini Darth Vader, this year's video involves some adorable dogs.

Happy Friday!

P.S. The Chewbacca pup is kind of the best.

my classmate's sister-in-law makes $84 hourly on the laptop. She has been fired for 7 months but last month her income was $9078 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Go to this site NuttyRich . c0m

I don't believe for a second that they actually managed to get the dogs to bark like that, but who gives a damn? Great to hear that song again, now I wanna watch Star Wars! ;)

I love it!! And thedog that roars like Chewie is awesome!

It must've taken forever to get the dogs to bark like that.

I think it's very well done.

I kept skipping ahead to get passed the barking. I didn't realize the barking was the commercial.

It's funny that they decided to continue with the Star Wars homage when they have a greenpeace campaign against them that pictures the VW as Darth Vader......not so smart in my opinion

I saw this during The Middle and started laughing the more the barking went on. I rarely laugh at commercials, but this was silly. What's weird is that I did not get what it was for at first. The barked music, if you call it that, was familiar, but I couldn't place it until near the end. I also saw the dog at bottom right looking like Wicket, or any Ewok, but still did not put it together. Then it hit me and I realized the black dog was wearing Vader's chest electronics thing and so on. It's funny. Best one I've seen in a while.

The previous VW Star Wars commercial didn't make sense to me beyond trading on Star Wars iconography, there wasn't a feature shown or even a benefit bespoken about the car (remote starting is nothing original to VW). This ad doesn't even pretend to have a car in it, merely a logo and a date, it's just saying "look at us while we pretend to be clever!" So strange that these are popular.
