Something about Comedy Central's roasts encapsulate the whole seedy underbelly of the stand-up comedy scene. Not the quirky, hipster alt-comedy scene, but rather the hard-drinking, coke-snorting, self-loathing, backstabbing, pushed-up-blazer-sleeves comedy scene you'll find on any given night in comedy clubs across the country. That world is not a pleasant world to inhabit, but once a year those of us who harbor a morbid curiosity of what happens within it can drop in for an hour or so and observe. Last night it was Donald Trump's turn to take the hot seat. Why? Who the hell knows. Can he crave the spotlight that badly? I'm guessing he needs the money.
Whatever the case, he was given a brief reprieve from the endless onslaught of hooker and hairpiece jokes by The Situation, who delivered a set that roundly bombed with the audience. I'll say this, however: The guy kept his composure, even as the audience turned on him, even booing at one point. His jokes, which were undoubtedly written by someone else, were pretty bad, but they weren't that much worse than the ones delivered by the likes of host Seth MacFarlane, Jeffrey Ross, Lisa Lampanelli, and, via interpreter, Marlee Matlin. The guy's not an actor, and he's not a comic. He's an oil-slicked reality troll, and he's riding his 15 minutes into the ground. Can you really blame him? What are his other options at this point?
It was a punchline-free boast about banging models on a pile of cash—which is never going to ingratiate you with a room who thinks you're a complete tool—that really turned the crowd. According to TMZ, there were a bunch of other stinker lines in his act that Comedy Central cut, including one racist jab at Snoop Dogg. Seriously? Why? The Sitch bombing was the most memorable part of the show. You'd think Comedy Central would have ridden it for all it's worth.

Seth MacFarlane was hilarious, as was everybody else. I'm glad 'the sitch' bombed, maybe he'll go away now!
Moron! It's sad that america 'celebrates' this douchebag.
I stopped watching after 1 minute. How em-ba-rrassing
I almost feel bad for the guy.. that was horrible lol..
WTH is Seth MacFarlene doing there?
if the ptb did cut a racist joke from the Sitch-set, why did they leave all the racist jokes from all the other comedians pieces ???
His material was very good, however it's incredibly apparent that he didn't write any of it. His delivery was off and the crowd had a bias against him before he even began his part, as I'm assuming in the crowd were another of comedians who felt that they (rightfully so) were more deserving. But the material was there, no doubt. Whitney Cummings needs to be seen and not heard, her voice is nails-on-a-chalkboard bad. Anthony Jeselnik deserves to start blowing-up, I love his material.
What are you talking about? Everyone else had killer material, except perhaps Gilbert Gottfried, who made my head hurt. Sitch opened with two decent ones and then everything else sucked. Hard.
Question my sense of humor if you must, but I actually thought The Situation (ugh) had a couple of good jokes in there. His delivery and timing was awful, though, which made all his jokes sound stupider and lamer than how he had probably originally prepared. Oh, well; I don't like him, so boo and criticize him all you want.
I have to disagree. Aside from sitch, I thought everyone else was pretty gd funny. Even Seth MacFarlane, whose jokes normally makes me want to shove a machete through my eardrums, made me laugh a few times. The Situation took his place, though. My brain actually suffered from his presence. I thought it was sweet how Jeff Ross tried to get up and save him, though.
