Watch the First Episode of The CW's Zany Cult NOW (VIDEO)

The CW loves to brag about how some of its shows are the most Socially Media'd shows on television right now (search #TVD on Thursday nights and your Twitter feed might make your computer beg for mercy), and it would like to get a head start on TwitBook with its upcoming drama Cult. The network has posted the pilot online over at CW.com and Hulu for free (we've embedded it below, just note that it's probably only available to U.S. residents), so stop what you're doing and gives this wacky show a shot.

Cult stars Matt Davis (The Vampire Diaries) as a "journalist blogger" who investigates a string of mysterious incidents surrounding a popular television show. He's joined by one of the show's production assistants, and soon the duo learns the show's fans are re-enacting some of the show's more nefarious elements. But the real treat is the show-within-the-show, which stars Robert Knepper as a crazed and charismatic cult leader and Alona Tal as a cop trying to take him down.

It's been months since I've seen the pilot but I remember thinking that it has the potential to be a lot of fun, especially for fans of The CW. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments!

Cult premieres on Tuesday, February 19 at 9pm on The CW.

I for one thought it was awful. The acting was okay but the plot and script was asinine and so unbelievable. Gimme a break.

I am surprised that it got so many good reviews here. I thought the whole plot was predictable, both main characters were plot driven without any interesting traits (at first sight, at least) and how they got in the case was so unreal and typical (specially the production assistant). The main character was a less charismatic Alaric (writer's fault, not Matt Davis) without any Damon to reinforce his character. The cliffhangers (The cop with the tattoo and the abduction of the the guy who wanted to talk with the show's creator) weren't interesting enough, at least for me.

The good thing about Cult was Robert Knepper that was perfectly creepy and I would love to see scenes with the actor that plays the cult leader to see Knepper with two different roles in one same tv series.

I will watch the next episodes specially for Knepper, Alona Tal and Matt Davis. It has a good premise but I think it needs to improve the writing and to turn less predictable, I really hope it does. The actors deserve it.

Wait, what? People liked it? I found it really boring.

But then again, I was tired when I watched it, so maybe I need to watch it again to see if I missed something.

Having watched it, I generally approve. I don't think Matt Davis plays a blogger, though. Just a reporter. So far...

T-Bag's happy cult! They see themselves as a family and next they'll go hide in a carnival... When will Knepper play the hero for a change? What about Knepper as the cop and beautiful and seemingly frail Alona Tall as the cult leader? Just to change things a little, you know.

I gave it a watch tonight because I like the two main characters, especially Knepper. I saw someone describe it as a Meta-Horror, but I wonder if psych-horror might also apply - we'll see. And finally, I'm quite relieved to see that Tim seems to like it too. I look forward to seeing more Cult.

Wait, this is why Matt Davis left TVD? I thought they just wrote him off. I was hoping Silas would bring Alaric back or something. I guess if he has a new show now, I should stop holding out hope. :(

But yeah, this sounds interesting, and I like Davis and Alona Tal, so I'll check it out at some point. Hope it does well.

Wow... From what little I'd seen from the previews on The CW, I thought it was going to be a whole different type of show. I was interested in checking it out, but now I'm VERY interested! The actors, the writing, the meta... Just meta enough to be daring, but not so much you end up with the aptly named "The French Mistake". If the network sticks with it, I can definitely see this show becoming a popular staple.

Well, it's better than The Following. Not that they set the bar that high.

I watched it, and I was skeptical at first ("a show within a show"? whaat?) but I really liked it. I'm intrigued enough to say I'll tune in. And Robert Knepper as a cult leader is terrifyingly good. Watch the entire pilot before you give up on it. Definitely pulls you in.

Ok even though I can't watch it because I'm a foreigner, I'm genuinely excited to watch this and hope that it's good because if it's not, then Matt Davis leaving TVD for this would've been pointless.

I honestly don't understand why networks like to air online their pilot episodes weeks in advance ... wouldn't that hurt their pilot ratings? but that's just me

I agree.. it might have worked for some shows but in general, it sounds very wrong..

NBC aired Revolution's pilot online before they aired it on TV, and that did pretty well.

don't forget NBC's Revolution aired after The Voice. Even a repeat would do great after The voice! .

Wow I love how meta it is, that's pretty ballsy for a pilot. Especially all the CW advertisig in show, even a Roomba commercial XD. And the comments about Joss and Bruckheimer, just spot on. This show knows exactly what it is and I can't wait to see where it goes from here.

The pilot was OK, but it had the potential to be a lot more fun, especially since the show-within-a-show is a less self-serious version of The Following. I'll give it a few more episodes to see where it goes.
