Watch the Full Pilot of The CW's Emily Owens, M.D. Online Now (VIDEO)

Well that was a fun Premiere Week, wasn't it? Good thing it's all over and we can get back to—what? Oh there's still a ton of premieres and another network out there? Oh yes! The adorable, cuddly little CW still hasn't rolled out any of its new shows, and won't for a little over a week. But The CW is accepting the strategy of trying to get word out early and has uploaded the pilot episode of Emily Owens, M.D. to YouTube.

Emily Owens, M.D. stars Mamie Gummer (Off the Map; Meryl Streep's daughter) as a doctor who's just out of medical school and eager to start her life over at her first gig in a Denver hospital. After years of school cliques and bossy cool kids, Emily can't wait for a fresh start. Except she quickly finds out that hospital life isn't that much different from school life.

I'm not sure why The CW chose the relatively low-profile Emily Owens, M.D. as its guinea pig to test out what Fox, NBC, and ABC have already practiced, but I'd guess it's because the network thinks the show is a lot better than some less-than-supportive early reviews suggest. For the record, our staff liked it more than most people, but we didn't find it to be a must-watch. Take a look for yourself!

What did you think? Would you prescribe Emily Owens, M.D. to your friends? Or is your prognosis that the show will flatline soon? I will "thumbs up" any comment that uses doctor-y and medical puns.

I think she is adorable, but I don't think this is my type of show.

I don't have warm feelings about this show. No show which recasts Jack Coleman's part deserves to survive.

I had this weird feeling to watch this show since a long time even though its not my type at all just because of the lead actor! Now I know why! She's the daughter of the amazing Meryl Streep! Why didn't I realize it before! All I have to say is its a very 'cute' show which I actually want to watch!

That's funny because the incidence of black people having Cystic Fibrosis is very rare.

And yes that is all I have to say about this show.

People may still be insecure and awkward as adults, but most people genuinely do grow up some and become better than their high school selves. I don't mind Emily being awkward and insecure, I kind of mostly like her anyway (though they are overplaying the awkward and it got tiresome after an hour of it). However, I'm not really sure I want to watch a show about people being petty and immature, like high school, just at a hospital. That doesn't sound fun or interesting or very original as a premise to a TV show. I think this show can do better than that though. I think there is potential here, if they do away with this unnecessary and gimmicky "hospitals are like high school" theme.

It may not be the most original, but the awkward cuteness of it all might breathe life back into a network that is spewing disease ridden crap tv like ohsit!

I really enjoyed Mamie in Off the Map, but this just seems like a High School 2.0 kind of show, and I'm not interested in seeing how hospitals and bullying mix. Good cast, but bad premise. I think it's DOA.

For another network, I'd say it's a misdiagnosis, but it appears to be the right call for The CW. As long as they follow a regimented treatment, watch their plots and weekly cheese intake, I don't see why its flaws might not fade away and it might just yet live a long and healthy life.
