Today, the ladies of The View devoted an entire segment to those billboards saying the world will end on May 21st. (Are you ready?) Here it is.
Surprise, surprise. Sherri Shepherd, the panel's resident evangelical, was the one who brought this hellfire-hot topic to their attention. But Sherri had her doubts, quoting some piece of bullshit scripture whose magical superpowers counteracted the first piece of bullshit scripture. As a precaution, though, she said she's cleaning her house and cooking on the 21st, should Jesus actually decide to pop by. She wasn't kidding.
Shepherd is a born-again Christian, but back in the '70s she was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses—a sect that once believed that the end was coming in 1975. As we now know, it didn't. And Sherri has learned her lesson: Always be skeptical! It's something she's obviously put a some thought into. You know what she hasn't put a lot of thought into? The shape of the planet. Here's a classic View clip from 2007:
There's are a couple of comments under the YouTube flat-earth clip that, amazingly enough, sum up my thoughts on The View. The first goes like this:
"Dear America,
What on Earth do you think you're doing giving TV shows to Muppets like this?
Yours truly, England."
And the second, like this:
"A conversation between Sherri and Elisabeth is so dense, light bends around it."
Now back to work, everyone. Jesus is coming. Try to look busy.

Watchtower Jehovah’s Witnesses have little credibility with their own fairy tale primary doctrine of Jesus ‘invisible’ second coming October 1914
Watchtower society false prophets declare end of world in 1874, 1878, 1881, 1910, 1914, 1918, 1925, 1975, and 1984.... Watchtower society false prophets declare end of world in 1975 http://www.dannyhaszard.com/1975.htm actual news releases on Armageddon 1975 prediction -----
Danny Haszard been there!
People who think christians cannot laugh at themselves are ignorant, we are not all super serious who hate it when people comment on our beliefs. I watch South Park all the time and laugh when they make fun of christians, blacks, whites, gingers, jews, fat kids, asians, muslims, scientologist, and etc because their jokes are funny and the writes have the rule that they make fun of "everybody" no matter their personal beliefs. The "bs scripture" part was just offensive to me because it was uncalled for.
\"But Sherri had her doubts, quoting some piece of "bs" scripture whose magical superpowers counteracted the first piece of "bs" scripture- I know we have freedom of speech and you can say or write whatever you want in this article but that is offensive. Some people actually believe in those "bs" scriptures; and who are you to make so little of it. I don\'t believe you can predict the exact date of the end of the world through the bible but I wouldn\'t say that quoted line to someone\'s face, I would have a much nicer or at least respectful way to say it. Who are you to say their religion is wrong or bs anyways? Also, the first piece of "bs" ; was not scripture at all, that was the point she was trying to make. People these days are right, with the internet you have people who wouldn\'t have the gutts to say something to you face insult you online and not worrying about accountability. I don\'t agree with that church that protest soldiers funneral but at least they have the gutts to put their faces out their and not hide behind their words.moreless
Seth, ignore the naysayers. I thought this article was a good read and it gave me a darn good chuckle, too!
My earlier comment may have been misleading. I think your article is awesome and smart. Keep writing with heart and don't listen to all of the Christians that have commented here. Good job bringing a logical view on a very illogical view called The View (get it?).
Hey, I once posted a hilarious joke that made of fun of Christianity in the comments section here before and the comment got deleted!!! Now, I love that your article isn't screaming "Hallelujah!" and Praise the Lord!", but if you can make anti-religion posts, then WHY CAN'T I!?!?!?!?
I'm amazed by all the programs on History and Nat Geo wasting our time with the 2012 world ending extravaganza predicted by the Mayans. I'm just looking forward to that date passing uneventfully (as these things always do) so they'll be stuck with a batch of programs they won't be able to run again. There out to be a lot of hard drive space freed up at those networks come Jan 1, 2013.
The only hypocritical bit are the people who moan when suddenly it's "their" religion getting cheap shots, and giggle when it's others. Thumbs up for making an article with personal taste, I'll go else where for neutral objective news articles ^^
Can't see the first clip because I'm not in the US.....guess by 'world' they mean 'America'. Can't believe there is another, even earlier, apocolypse prediction. It seems like there is one every year now. Then the date goes by, they are completely wrong and then they just choose a new date. It's ridiculous.
TV.Com wheres the button to report this article for this type of abuse. You have one for the comments people make. Had one of us made these same comments it would have been deleted and a warning with a reason why this was unacceptable. Very hypocritical to me
Seth, you just sound uniformed and uneducated on Christian beliefs. As for being unbiased as a writer you failed. yes your entitled to your opinion but to mock others beliefs just makes you look like a giant a$$. Tv.com should have banned you fro writing what you wrote, not for your opinion but for the way you approached it. Not funny, without tact and completely unworthy of a tv.com article.
This isn't about Christian scripture. It's about certain people who read them and interprets them. Like Sherri....
lol Wow Seth, you sure aren't hiding your feelings about Christian scripture very well. Not that I disagree with you...
I'm with the guy below me. You suck, mister Seth.
Wow, you just bash Christians and their *** scripture. Seriously, you could have taken a much less biased, uninformed approach to this article.
