Watch the Pilot of ABC Family's Bunheads Early

Bunheads, the new ABC Family series from Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, premieres June 11. The drama centers on Michelle (Tony-winner Sutton Foster), a Las Vegas showgirl who impulsively gets married, moves to her new husband's small hometown, and takes a teaching position at her new mother-in-law's dance school... and we've got a way for you to watch the pilot right now! In hopes of spreading the word about the show, ABC Family is distributing special passcodes that will allow internet-savvy TV fans to see the first episode of Bunheads prior to the show's official premiere. Wasn't planning to even give it a chance with that silly name, but was curious about seeing Sutton Foster in this medium. And I'm glad I gave it a shot; it was much better than I thought it'd be. The young dancers' acting and storylines were a bit of a weak point, but I liked the interplay between Fanny and Michelle. (And Hubbel, but...) It definitely has potential to be an enjoyable summer show.

I enjoyed it more than I expected, going in. I think I will continue to watch more of this show. It had a lot of comedic overtones and promises to provide some light entertainment.

I feel bad about it but I kind of want this show to fail so that Sutton can go back to doing what she does best: being the star of Broadway.

I think I'll watch it just because of Bailey Buntain. So cute!

I was not too optimistic before I watched Bunheads. I thought that the dance element might be overly forced, like the singing on Glee. (Don't get me wrong; I still enjoy Glee but they don't always sing for the most plausible reasons.) But I was pleasantly surprised about Bunheads. The characters are engaging just like they were on Gilmore Girls, but thankfully it doesn't seem like it will be a copy of the earlier show. I will definitely be giving this show a chance this summer.

Was really not sure about the Lorelei - but warmed to her about the same time as Emily/Miss Patty. Was surprised at the ending but I definitely think that is sets the series up for a much better direction. I'm glad I gave it a chance because the title had originally turned me off completely. Was that Gypsy in the dress store?

Liked it, a LOT. There's been a hole in my tv time since GG went off air, hoping this will be an awesome show with an awesome run to fill that hole up a little. It was very funny, yet there were touches of emotion almost everyone could relate to.

I.... didn't like the very end. I'm hoping it's not what I think it is..

Either way... Can't wait to see more!

Liked it, Will give it a shot. Definitely a lot of GG in this, even before "Fanny" was introduced. Though I can't say that I liked the twist, but I figured there would be one. We will see where it goes.

Working title "Dogs." Ha. Not sure about the premise, maybe it will all work itself out. I do still miss Gilmore Girls.

I did like it and I can see a lot of Gilmore Girls in it. I wasn't sure about the main character until the middle where I could see more of her acting with the towns people and the students.

Greetings from EU, just saw the pilot.

It has a slow build up, but i like the premise and it has a lot of room to grow. So far Iam intrigued enough in the characters, that I want to know more about them.

So hoping to catch more episodes when it premiers

I didn't dislike it so much...maybe it will become better, mostly thanks to the characters dynamics. I didn't see the final twist coming but I thought something will happen. It was a "real" pilot. It has some potential it depends where it will focus, if it comes to be too much dancing it will be really boring (from my point of view). I like the characters and I love the mother. The main character reminds me too much of Lorelai Gilmore...odd..It's for now not so exciting but as MamaVanC said, it's summer tv....and I watch and like the secret life, that is the most boring show ever so..

I enjoyed the last 10 minutes the most, I though Sutton Foster really started to own the character, and her conversation with Hubbel's mom was quite touching. I could see them developing the younger girls into decent enough characters if given the time (and a good team of writers), I especially like Boo. However, you can tell a cast of dancers and "musical theater" types when you see them all together (I speak from personal, long-term experience); everyone is acting in a way you might see a Broadways show performed, particularly Sutton. I think this will balance out over time as the cast becomes accustomed to working on TV. I did like the "TWIST!" ending though - curious to watch the new relationships unfold. Not too curious though, if this weren't summer TV it is doubtful I would keep up with it.

I *think* that may have been the biggest waste of my time ever.

Maybe if I was more into dancing and the like, I could enjoy it but the acting was just too staged for my taste on the small screen (I prefer Broadway).

This would make an awesome play, tv show? I don't think so but then again it's ABC Family, they have made shows like Secret Life work.
