Summer + Eliza = AWOOOOOGA!

If you are near anything that you don't want covered in brain and skull fragments, step away from it -- because your head is about to explode. Fox has announced that Summer Glau will reunite with Joss Whedon and join the cast of Dollhouse.
Glau moving into Dollhouse seemed like such an obvious decision once Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was canceled, but we're still shocked it's actually happening. Whedon is understandably ga-ga over the fetching Glau, and the two have been talking about working together again for some time now. Glau previously played River Tam on Whedon's cult sci-fi hit Firefly.
On Dollhouse, Glau will play Bennett, an employee of the Dollhouse that shares a past with Echo (Eliza Dushku). Fox did not say how many episodes Glau would appear in -- but did reveal that her role is a recurring one. Let's just hope that Bennett has some emotions and isn't a robot, so we can finally see Glau's acting chops.
Glau's addition to the cast solidifies Dollhouse as a refuge for popular sci-fi and genre actors; Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber and Michael Hogan, Angel's Alexis Denisof, and Deadwood's Keith Carradine are all scheduled for guest appearances this season. The regular cast already includes vets of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alias, and Battlestar Galactica.
Dollhouse returns for season two on September 25 on Fox.

I'm really happy Summer Glau got a job so quickly after Terminator, it just sucks it's on a vastly inferior show compared to the one she was on a few months ago.
rotfl... it seems Fox is trying to pool all the audience of both these clunkers and hoping to increase Dollhouse's core fan number... problem is... don't look now FOX but these are the same little girls with low standards who were already watching both.

Summer Glau! I just love saying her name! I'm sad that Terminator is gone but am now very happy that she's joining Dollhouse. When did Alexis Denisof join the cast?!? Yeah, a big ole Jossverse party!
She's pretty actactive, but I'm not sure if she can act, though that doesn't seem to be a requisite for TV these days. Never watched the show, this probably won't make me start. Sorry Fox

I might just have to start watching this show now. It's becoming the ultimate geek fantasy cast. If they throw in a couple x-files and star trek actors people's heads might explode.

Here's to hoping that the character's a villain. A psychotic, seductive one that won't hesitate to use her feminine wiles to get what she wants. Oh, and maybe she can be revealed to be a cybernetic organism from the future.
Woo-Hoo, I've been waiting for official confirmation of this since the first rumor popped up all those months ago - All I can say is GO JOSS Season 2 is going to be huge, No clue what Alexis Denisof's involvement will be but hopefully something better than just pairing his character up with Whiskey\Dr Saunders because that would just be to weird given how much time they wasted with the whole Wes\Fred thing over at ANGEL.
Well this is exciting. After the disappointment of TSCC's, having Summer move back into the Whedon-universe is going to be amazing. Dollhouse is going to have a great 2nd season.
OMG, this is amazing news! glau is one of my favorite actresses and I think she'll be amazing on Dollhouse. and Jamie Bamber!!! It's almost as good as having BSG back....

This is so awesome. I Love Summer and getting to see her in this show, is possibly to much for me to cope with.
Already loved her from Firefly, but got to see how much of a great actress she is when she appeared in The 4400 as a schizophrenic with the power of persuasion. Can't wait for Dollhouse to return this year.
finally! someone that actually looks good in dollhouse. this show will definitely be better with her. she might even be so good that eliza would reduce to nothing!!!
even if she turns out to be one of the "robots", she'll have to play a thousand different roles, so either way we'll see her act human

Actually I'd prefer her back as the Terminator, same as some of the others here. I thought she pulled that role of brilliantly, displaying quite some acting chops in my opinion. Still having her back in collaboration with Joss is good too and I think she will outshine Eliza.
I don't really care too much about Summer Glau, even if I can't wait to see her act more normally. But Denisof however, I'm looking forwards to more than any human should. He was my favorite thing about Angel... And if he and Whiskey somehow are in the same scene, I WILL die of happiness. Also, they said Glau would appear in two episodes.. I think I read that somewhere..
Catching up with Angel now. I fall in love with Alexis Denisof everyday all over again. and Summer to Dollhouse is AWESOME.
Just bring back Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles already and stop teasing us.

According to the unaired 13th episode of first season story was entirely different way.. just because of this Summer Glau is befit to show..
If you havent seen dollhouse i'd say watch the 1st two then the last three episodes... you'll be hooked instantly... then fill in the missing episodes and you'll find they're okay (but not as good as the ones i recommend)
Shame she can't replace Dushku as the lead. Anyway terrible show with some of the most annoying characters ever to grace the screen.Bin this and bring back TSCC.....fast!
Wasn't too impressed w/ DH until towards the end. Man I MISS Terminator!!! This is great news for Glau and DH.

I have actually watched Firefly and I LOOOOOVE it. What on earth is wrong with me? Hmmmm... Maybe my sense of humor is a bit too keen? And I think I might be suffering from having such an open mind. Oh, also, my love of creative, adventurous and daring TV shows has probably overriden me again. Darn! I really should get that checked.
LOL @ the author's "geek out" moment. I'm not surprised by Summer joining the Dollhouse cast but I am a little curious about her being put in the role of a regular person. She would've been perfect as a doll!
Ah well no point in watching dollhouse anymore as the addition of Glau is a pointer towards cancellation of the show not many episodes down the line , same with all the other actors and actresses in that piece of crap that was firefly as soon as they go to a show it is cancelled , to all the people who say Firefly is brilliant, have you actually watched it? if the answer is yes and you still liked it what on earth is wrong with you??
Have to say I wan't impressed with her in the hand full of eps of SC I saw, but I'm willing to give her a chance in DH.

wow just saw epitaph one and good god...I'm in it till the end. If this is where the shows going then thank god for a 2nd season. And of course happy the Summer is with us for the next step
Hope this show gets better. I still think that they should have kept on the Terminator on Fox. I will give this show another chance. Hope im not disappointed.
Though it only made sense, it's still an exciting bit of news. If only Terminator SCC were announced to come back I'd be beyond excited.
I really like Summer Glau, so this is exciting. I'll have to catch up with Dollhouse, but not for her... I didn't know ALEXIS DENISOF IS GOING TO BE ON DOLLHOUSE!!!! Color me beyond excited!
