What is Burn Notice? Good question, great skit.

SNL temporarily redeemed itself this weekend with this hilarious skit that asks the question on everyone's mind: What is Burn Notice?

Also!

... Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter wants to do a crossover with Glee. And if he tweets it, it must be true.

... The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons plays 30 characters in this ad for Stand Up 2 Cancer.

... A real Caltech professor says that Fringe's "Jacksonville" episode was scientifically accurate! Legit.

... TV Guide interviewed Castle leading lady Stana Katic.

... Finally, I wanted to show some love to my two favorite Super Bowl ads: Betty White's Snickers spot and the Stevie Wonder's "PunchDub".

Burn Notice is the best show on TV. When you've got the attention of the big guns, you know you've made it. Stop intellectualizing. If it weren't good,it wouldn't be entertaining and you wouldn't be wasting your time watching.

I think the skit was great. Sure I watch Burn Notice for kicks, but the acting and plot lines are brutal. What was the original plot of the show? A spy who needs to clear his name, yet he takes on these McGuiver missions each week with a 30 sec clip of progress on his own issues.ie. this show is crap, but still entertaining lol. I don't get it, but I'm still watching. AND I DON't KNOW WHY! lol

As someone already posted, USA and NBC are owned by the same company, so this sketch is more self-promotion than "redemption." What did the ads for "Miami Vice" with "Something in the Air Tonight" tell anyone about that show?

Oh, I didn't find offense at all. It's just if you're make a joke about something, shouldn't it be, y'know, funny? But I agree that it was more than likely used as a bit promotion ad.

Betty White owns everyone in TV.

USA is owned by NBC Universal. It was supposed to be clever self-promotion but was kinda obvious to anyone who knew what was going on. They couldn't come out and do a full ad for the show so they tried to be 'self-deprecating' hoping most people would see it as a slam and be interested in the show nonetheless.

You guys need to lighten up if you're taking offense. It was just a joke. The only problem I had with it was that it seemed like one big commercial. If anything, it's likely to get more people curious about the show.

SNL has some guts, I'll give them that. Making fun of a show on a network which is owned by NBC. Still not very funny and actually kind of sad since NBC is starving in the ratings and USA actually has good shows.

When I was in New York, there were Burn Notice posters on pretty much every wall. But all that was on them was Mike and Fi and the words "Burn Notice." Not even the slightest hint at what the show was about. I love Burn Notice, but I think this is a good-natured dig at its uninformative advertising.

Boring and kind of pointless. Couldn't they do this about almost any show except the obvious procedurals?

I didn't find it funny. It was as if SNL was saying "Are you a fan of Burn Notice, well then here's a kick in the nuts you idiot!" In this day of reality garbage such as Survivor, American Idol and Jersey Shore. They have the audacity to single out Burn Notice a show that is actually enjoyable. And if you don't know what Burn Notice is or what it's about one only need to watch the opening credits to get the gist of the show.

"My name is Michael Weston and I used to be a spy."

I guess it's only funny if you actually watch/know what Burn Notice is.... even then, it's 3 minutes of the same joke - three contestants don't watch this show. I didn't even giggle during the first minute, unline Ninjaman, but I was definitely bored.
