What to Watch: October 18 - 24

TV.com's pick of the best TV shows on Aussie screens this week.

Series return. For two long weeks, fans have been waiting to see if Ringo (Sam Clark) would pull through after being struck by Steph (Carla Bonner). Tonight, those who haven't heard the goss through the press will finally get their answer.

Airs: 6:30pm Monday on TEN

Undercover Boss Australia
Premiere. Don Meij from Domino's Pizzas is the first Aussie CEO to join his rank and file on the retail frontline. He is trained by a nice young bloke at a store in the ACT and meets a driver who has a novel idea for a new pizza product. Then in North Queensland he meets a manager who goes above and beyond the call with her customers. This sticks like glue to the original format and is a little more down to earth than the American version.

Airs: 7:30pm Monday on TEN

Iron Chef Australia
Premiere. Grant Denyer hosts the show we know as the whacky cooking contest? Seven's production is enormous, with no expense spared. A studio audience watches as aspiring cooks go up against some of the best in the country. But without the hammy dubbing and over-the-top Japanese reactions could this actually get lost in translation?

Airs: 7:30pm Tuesday on Seven

New series. We pick up from last season's finale as Paloma Reynosa (Jacqueline Obradors) threatens to take revenge on Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) father. Without giving too much away, this becomes a game of cat and mouse that will keep fans guessing. But there are some serious moral questions about the ethics of the climactic scene. If this went on in the real world we'd be seriously worried. Then again, maybe it does...

Airs: 8:30pm Tuesday on TEN

The Big Bang Theory
New series. It's all over the box, so it helps to know where the new episodes are. In the first episode of this new season, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) finds herself along for the ride on Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) first date ever. Meanwhile, Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) finds a new use for a robotic arm. Mayim Bialik, better known as TV's Blossom guest stars as Sheldon's date, Amy Fowler.

Airs: 8:30pm Wednesday on Nine

Grand Designs Australia
Premiere. Check out the first episode of the Australian version of this UK favourite. We meet construction manager Chris Clarke who built a house in the Victorian bush only to see it burnt to the ground two weeks later during the Black Saturday fires. Now he is determined to see a Phoenix rise from the ashes. It's a highly ambitious logistics project and the finished product is a stunner. Hosting this is architect Peter Maddison.

Airs: 8:30pm Thursday on LifeStyle

Beauty and the Geek Australia
New series. Here's a 90-minute premiere for the second season as the geeks are forced to dress their beauties for a pageant before judges of former Miss Australia winners. Meanwhile, the beauties become instant experts at aeronautical engineering. Most TV shows hit their strides from the second series, so this is likely to improve on last year's cheeky series.

Airs: 8:30pm Thursday on Seven

New series. Justin Bieber premieres in this episode, but the truth is his role is pretty minor, and so far he's not a particularly strong actor. The more interesting aspect is the opening sequence where not everything is as it seems. Bieber will make a second appearance this season -- you have been warned.

Airs: 8:30pm Thursday on Nine

30 Rock
New series. It's season five for the Tracy Jordan Show and Jenna (Jane Krakowski) becomes a producer. But as Jack (Alec Baldwin) tells Liz (Tina Fey), "It's just a vanity credit, Lemon, a low cost way to make someone feel more important. Like executive producer Ashton Kutcher, or Secretary of State Hillary Clinton." Just after that the credits read producer: Alec Baldwin. Cute.

Airs: 10:30pm Thursday on Seven

Farewell The Bill
Special. After 27 years at Sun Hill Police Station ended last week, this special takes you behind the scenes to see the filming of the final episode. Watch as the cast and crew process the end of an era, and remind us of key moments across the life of the show. Old favourites will also return to help say farewell. So long, guv.

Airs: 8:30pm Saturday on ABC1
