What to Watch This Weekend: Supernatural, Dexter, and the Breaking Bad Season Finale

Congratulations on the one-week anniversary of LAST weekend! How will you celebrate?? (Hint: TV!)

What to watch on Friday, October 7...

9pm, Fox
Fringe
When the bodies of two former bullies are found in a strangely desiccated condition, the team suspects a strange entity may be responsible. But that is, you know, in addition to whatever other crazy parallel universe stuff they're dealing with at any given time.

9pm, CW
Supernatural
Sam tracks down a demon from his childhood (literal demon, not metaphorical) who's been eating folks' BRAINS. Honestly, I could use a demon like that in my life sometimes. Brains are overrated!

9pm, CBS
CSI: NY
A body found in the trunk of a stolen car puts the investigators on the trail of a family of car thieves who now fear for their lives. Let's just hope they've learned their lesson about being a family of car thieves.

SEASON 4 PREMIERE, 10pm, Syfy
Sanctuary
If you like time travel paradox shenanigans (and who doesn't, really?), tune in for tonight's season premiere of Sanctuary in which Magnus travels to turn-of-the-century London to stop Adam from altering the timeline. And while we're on the subject, everybody stop stepping on butterflies already, jeez!

What to watch on Saturday, October 8...

11:30pm, NBC
Saturday Night Live
Ben Stiller and Foster the People, you guys. The big question is whether Ben Stiller will appear as the unpredictable, energetic version of himself from The Ben Stiller Show, or the low-energy straight-man version of himself from the past few years? We'll see!

SERIES PREMIERE, 11pm, BBC America
Free Agents (UK)
Just in time for the U.S. remake's cancellation, BBC America finally debuts the original British series about two professional colleagues who deal with their respective breakups by having a one-night stand. Any guesses about which version is better?

ORIGINAL MOVIE, 9pm, Syfy
Terror Beneath
Here's one for you eco-horror fans: Adrian Pasdar stars as a government agent racing to stop a monstrous "root system" from upending society! Much like the environmental classic An Inconvenient Truth, Everyone Should See This Film™.

What to watch on Sunday, October 9...

SEASON 4 FINALE, 10pm, AMC
Breaking Bad
Well, here we are: It's the final episode of Breaking Bad's incredible fourth season. Remember those crazies who complained that the show wasn't as good as it used to be? They were CRAZY—this season has been the best! Anyway, in tonight's suspenseful, stressful, probably unpleasant denouement, Walt and Jesse finally square off against Gus. It's like a Battle Royale of excellent characters!

9pm, Showtime
Dexter
Tonight Dexter meets a minister (guest-star Mos Def) who has an interesting way of proselytizing. (Hint: It involves serial killing). Plus Deb finds herself a sudden celebrity for her restaurant shoot-out heroics.

9pm, CBS
The Good Wife
House's Lisa Edelstein appears as Will's ex-wife in a court-ordered mediation session. Plus Eli and Diane have to work together to deal with a dairy company's PR nightmare.

10pm, Showtime
Homeland
Carrie receives an interesting piece of intel from an undercover agent, plus Brody deals with his alleged PTSD and continues to avoid the label of "war hero." Also funny pranks and musical numbers just kidding.

9pm, HBO
Boardwalk Empire
Tonight Nucky calls in a favor with the U.S. attorney general, which may or may not have to do with the Coast Guard's disruption of an alcohol delivery. Plus Lucy deals with her loneliness. We've all be there, girl!

ORIGINAL SPECIAL, 10pm, Comedy Central
The Making of South Park: 6 Days to Air
South Park is famous for its incredibly short turnaround time, which is the reason the show's been able to comment on headline-making stories in virtual real-time. This documentary follows the production of a typical episode from inception to broadcast. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are wizards, seriously!

I'm still waiting for people from another other universe to show up in Fringe. That oughta be fun! So anyway, obiously I'll be watching Fringe this Friday, and also Supernatural and Blue Bloods. Nothing on Saturday (a girl needs to go out every once in a while :P) and on Sunday Dexter, Homeland and Against the Wall.

Nah, just kidding. I live in Europe so I go out every night and find the shows online the next day (time difference is a b*tch :D). Probably wouldn't even watch them on the air if I could... No TV episode is worth staying up until 2+ am.

Nikita and Craig Ferguson tonight.

Nothing on Saturday. I'd bet Stiller will be his now-too-common straight man self.

Breaking Bad, Dexter, and Homeland on Sunday.
