What to watch on Wednesday, January 11...

All right, now we're talking. If you can't find something good to watch tonight, then maybe you should just pick up your TV set and throw into a river of hot lava, because television is not for you and you don't need it. For everyone else, there's tons of good stuff on, I'm telling you:
SERIES PREMIERE, 8:30pm, NBC
Are You There, Chelsea?
Despite Whitney not being quite the hit that NBC was hoping for, it's moving to Wednesdays tonight to pair up with this new Chelsea Handler sitcom for a sort of Brassy Ladies of Comedy Hour. Loosely based on Handler's book Are You There, Vodka? It's Me Chelsea, this one stars Laura Prepon as Handler's alter-ego who slings shots and sass at a local dive (Handler herself appears as a dowdy, born-again sister). Tonight's pilot deals with Chelsea's decision to get her life together after getting a DUI. It couldn't possibly be as bad as Whitney, right? (Don't answer that.)
SEASON 9 PREMIERE, 8pm, CW
One Tree Hill
A poignant countdown begins tonight for One Tree Hill fans as the show's ninth and final season gets underway. In tonight's premiere Brooke attempts to adapt to her new family life with Julian while Clay and Quinn deal with a complication of their own. And, you know, Chad Michael Murray returns. Ladies?
9:30pm, ABC
Happy Endings
Professionally hilarious people Michael McKean and Megan Mullally guest-star tonight as Dave's dad and Dave's dad's new girlfriend, who also happens to be Penny's mother. Meanwhile Alex comes to suspect that the Chinese restaurant next door is actually a brothel and also she purchases a foul-mouthed parrot for a pet. That is so many comedic premises! I better rest up beforehand.
10pm, ABC
Revenge
Tonight Emily sets her sights on a famous author who has nefarious ties to the Hamptons. Elsewhere, Daniel decides to get involved in his parents' divorce, plus a "shocking discovery" forces everyone to scramble. (It's unclear whether there will be any karate this week.)
SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 10pm, Syfy
Face Off
One of TV's coolest, most underrated reality competitions returns for a second season tonight as 14 aspiring movie makeup artists must reimagine characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely looking forward to all the fun nightmares I'll be having afterward!
AWARDS SPECIAL, 9pm, CBS
People's Choice Awards 2012
It's that time of year again, the night when Hollywood hands out its own version of Certificates of Participation! Which incredibly successful, widely adored, well-paid actors will finally get their due tonight? Nominees include Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, and Reese Witherspoon. Sometimes it's just nice to know that voting with your dollars isn't enough, you know?

Haven't watched One Tree Hill since Chad Michael Murray left so I guess I'll give it another try tonight. Also Revenge, Happy Endings and Suburgatory. I already watch the premiere of Are you There, Chelsea? months ago online when I was very bored and as expected it was not in the ways of the funny.
One Tree Hill!!!! One Tree Hill!! One Tree Hill!!! One Tree Hill!!!! One Tree Hill!! One Tree Hill!!! One Tree Hill!!!! One Tree Hill!! One Tree Hill!!! One Tree Hill!!!! One Tree Hill!! One Tree Hill!!! oh and also Revenge!! But what's most important is One Tree Hill!!!!
really? and I was just thinking "who still continues to watch one tree hill?"
Revenge :)
Okay, I just looked over to the right and see on the AOLTV links that "Could Chelsea Be The New Cheers?" And I am wondering what person could compare the two. So I read. It is Laura Prepon. Wow. Apparently, playing Chelsea has made her freaking ballsy enough to compare a terrible (from what I am hearing) comedy to one hugely successful comedy. What else could they have in common? Scenes in bars? Is there a guy named Norm? Because, I am sorry, I can't imagine that there is anything that will be likeable about that show, other than it's cancellation notice.
Comparing the show to Cheers is a desperate attempt to raise our crappy expectations for this show. I guess they're already in the process of trying to milk a full season out of the NBC execs. And why not?? If a bag of goo like Whitney can get a full season, why not this??
I know it's a little unfair for me to be biased against a show yet to air on TV, but if it comes from Chelsea Handler, my gag reflex kicks in.
Exactly. I tuned in for less than 1 minute and am still angry for losing that much of my life. It was that bad.
Modern Family & Happy Endings =D
wait, but if whitney is now on wednesdays, then that means... FREE SLOT FOR COMMUNITY!
To which I say, Be done with 30 Rock, AND The Office, and put in Community.
No, 30 Rock is in there.
Just suburgatory
Modern Family, Happy Endings, SVU, The Exes (I don't know why), and Craig Ferguson.
Not mentioning SVU's return in the article except in the basic rundown is a shame, it's been OVER A MONTH!

Can you guys believe I had Revenge in my dead pool? No wonder I finished next to last.
well yes - the premise sounded awful and old like dynasty ... 'girl with daddy issues takes mighty revenge on the filthy rich hamptonites' but somehow the show has become awesome (in a very camp way)
Glad you brought up Dead Pool, @Arch. One last announcement on that is forthcoming.
The Middle, Suburgatory, Modern Family, Happy Endings and REVENGE - YAY!!
Two bads do not make a good, i.e., Whitney & Are You There, Chelsea? They are both right up there with that awful new show about the two guys dressing up like women - ugh. What is wrong with the suits at these networks??!
YES!!!
Oh, and to answer your question: a lot.
The Middle, Suburgatory, Modern Family, Hot in Cleveland, Face Off and The Soup.
Revenge!! (LOL Price, karate. you crack me up.) You know, you should do photo recaps on Revenge. Although I kind of get the feeling you cant stand it.
One Tree Hill, Happy Endings, Suburgatory, The Middle.
Fingers crossed for Fringe at the Peoples Choice Awards (but I'm not holding my breath).
